Next are a bit precious about their sale, aren't they?

I've received an invitation for the Next sale for the first time.

I've been meaning to buy a few holiday clothes so I clicked the link and was faced with The Rules.

Including that I must not let anyone else use my slot, and if I don't add an item to my basket within 20 minutes I'll be booted out. Oh, and if I don't buy anything I'll be put on the naughty list and wont be invited again. GrinHmm

I've received an email copy of The Rules to internalise before the big event.

And I have to schlepp to the store to collect!

That's funny - just now got a text saying they can't deliver orders to store for the sale! Which is very annoying as I'm never in when there very unreliable delivery men turn up.

Frankly their stuff isn't worth a light any more! Very rarely see anything worth buying there anymore.

Not to mention the actual shop sale with people queuing from as early as 3 in the morning. They make me giggle. I shop at Next a lot but rarely find anything worth buying in their sales. You have to be one of the first.

I've never bothered with the sale before, and only absolute lunatics queue up outside at the crack of dawn!

I'll be suprised if they have anything in stock in my size anyway but the OTT rules have intrigued me enough to have a look.

I've had a slot before but by the time my time came around there was nothing left with buying! Never bothered since.

Next is boring and I've never understood the fascination with it full stop let alone the weirdness over the sale but I never knew there were 'rules' Grin

I really don't think Next is as good as it used to be. I find the sizing really odd these days and tend to just stick to buying stuff from there if it is on sale. That said, Choice tends to be decent price wise!

Next is incredible for kids stuff. My friend is going at 5am. I'm jealous!

I like Next because I can usually buy the same dresses from them as from the actual retailer and return them if they don't fit before I pay off my account.

I love the kids clothes too...not enough to get up at the crack of dawn though. I've always found the Next sales obsession a bit bizarre.

It's all part of the marketing which Next are very clever at. Right up with opening at stupid o'clock and dressing their staff in special t-shirts. It's to convince the public that it's an event, special, exclusive, bargain-tactic.

Where in fact it is overpriced stuff in the first place, resembles a jumble sale after 2 minutes and is mostly stock bought in especially for the "sale" of stuff from winter 2005 which they're still trying to shift.

Hate next. Loathe their "sale".

I got the kids coats for next winter in the sale today. £12 each and they'll probably sell for as much second hand on eBay afterwards. Grin

Whenever I've bothered popping into their sale it's all the off season tat they couldn't sell. I've never queued at 5am though so I probably miss the good stuff.

I've never seen the allure of Next, it's naf and I've never been famed for being adventurous with fashion.

I found the kids stuff a bit slogan-tastic like the cheaper supermarkets. But more expensive.

Next are in financial trouble and it's not hard to see why. Their clothing is unimaginative, poorly made and overpriced. 10-15 years ago the sales were worth attending, now the clothing is barely worth the sale price, let alone the full price. Sadly M&S has also gone the same way.

Agree it is full of shite they bring in specially for the "sale".

Our local one has way too much stock at the best of times you can hardly get down the aisle.

My experience is next sales are either all size 8 or size 18 so never bother. Its the runblish they can't get rid of.

Not quite on-topic but I despise the Next website. It's set out like a catalogue and you can't click on the items on each 'page'?? Is there a way to change the format? I don't actually like many of their things but the website is the most offputting bit.

I don't usually get an early slot and don't typically get anything but have just bought quite a few bits for the children for summer hols. Assuming it arrives on time! (Site kept logging me out and the items went from in stock to delivered in 6 weeks). Managed to get everything I wanted though so it's been a good sale for me.

I don't like Next as much as I used to, agree a lot of the kids stuff is overpriced and the women's stuff is too common (as in you'll almost always see someone else wearing the same thing).

Their sale has been a bit guff the last few seasons - it seems I might have got myself blacklisted by not making a purchase in my VIP sale slot!! 😂
