To shower backwards. Whichever way do you?

Plumber sorting shower today. DF said put it on this wall, later said you face window when showering. I said well I'll face sink but shower will be on window wall. Long story short. DF faces the shower and was incredulous that I don't. I have my back to shower when I'm washing my hair and body and only turn round to wash suds off. He said he can't believe anyone would do this.
Have I been doing it wrong all my life? How do you shower?

Oh, backwards!

But I have thick hair so I take the shower nozzle off the holder thing and use it to rinse.

I have my back to the shower too. Its easier to wash your hair that way.

Backward here too. But maybe it's a height thing? DH faces the shower but is tall enough to avoid the water; I would get a face full of spray (fixed shower head)

I wash my hair with my back to the shower, but my body facing towards it.

It's easier to wash hair and the water feels good on shoulders
Maybe it's a man thing?
As they don't have boobs

Facing the shower. I turn around to rinse my hair but lathering up, washing body etc I'm always facing frontwards.

Both. I face the shower for wetting (so to speak) and washing, and I face backwards to wet and rinse my hair.

Start off facing the shower, turn round so all wet, lather up, turn round to rinse, lather up hair, turn round to rinse, it's s miracle I've not done myself and injury as I'm very very clumsy!

Back to the shower other than to rinse off face scrub or body wash. DH is a odd, he sort of stands side on and turns 180 mid shower to wash the other side!

DH showers facing it though which hasn't really registered with me until now...is it a man/woman divide?
