Has anyone from Ireland ever bought the termination pill online? (sensitive)

Okay so, before anyone starts saying about safety.. I know. There is only one safe /secure site that you are meant to buy medical abortion pills online from if you are from a country where abortion is unfortunately restricted. ie. Ireland, Malta, and Poland.

Womenonweb, the only site which is recommended and the pills are sent by a doctor along with a previous online consultation.

Anyway, my huge problem is this. If you've ever done this and live in R.O.I, did you send the package to Belfast and pick it up at a post office? Or did you send the package to a parcel motel in Belfast / NI and it was sent to your local parcel motel?

I'm having huge trouble sorting this out and the post office in belfast don't even have an option to talk to someone to ask :(

It is quite urgent also. I'm nearly 8 weeks. The medical abortion only works up to 10 weeks..I don't want anyone to judge me or write anything horrible in the comments, I'm trawling the internet for hours/ days trying to find more information about the best way to get the package delivered. Post office or parcel motel? The last thing I need is the parcel being seized or lost.

Thank you x

If the parcel was going to be seized I wouldn't think the means by which its sent would make a difference. I'd go for the quickest or cheapest way (whichever is a big factor for you) and hope for the best. So sorry you're going through this. Flowers

So I think the best option then is the original plan to just travel to NI myself to pick it up at a post office?

Probably is, rather than running the risk..Thank you x

I'm sorry you have to do this in this day and age. Seems archaic
Hope you get the parcel safely

I have no idea but I want to send you my love. I have been against abortion since I was 12 years old and a food catholic girl, and then I converted to Islam and had children I wasn't ready for due to an abusive marriage.

This year my Dd had an abortion and couldn't get it early as she hadn't realised. But it was the best thing for her. I was upset, I even bonded with the tiny 'peanut'. And wasn't much use to my Dd. But she made the right decision.

All my love Darling. In this difficult situation. My own recent circumstances have made me realise how important it is to have abortion available and morning after pill etc.

TitaniasCloset · 18/06/2017 02:52

Good not food.

notanevilstepmother · 18/06/2017 03:20

You are in my thoughts.

Arealhumanbeing · 18/06/2017 03:23

Thinking of you, OP. Be careful and keep checking in with us x

InThisTogether · 18/06/2017 05:41

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to this but just wanted to say good luck. X

Supersoaryflappypigeon · 18/06/2017 05:44

Good luck-I'm sorry you have to go to such lengths for something I believe is your right. Lots of love Flowers

RoseOfSharyn · 18/06/2017 05:57

OP, I have no practical advice, but I just wanted to echo what other posters have said about you being in my thoughts.

I cannot believe that in this day and age women are still not allowed control of their own bodies/decisions. It makes me so angry and awfully sad.

I hope you get the outcome that you need. Flowers

YoureNotASausage · 18/06/2017 06:02

I don't understand why you think Belfast is a better option to ROI delivery. They actually prosecute people up here for getting the abortion pill sent. Or am I missing something? I'd risk getting it to ROI personally. Best of luck op. Sorry you have to go through this.

haveacupoftea · 18/06/2017 06:03

There is an organisation of rogue midwives in NI who advise women on the safe use of these pills - I'm so sorry I can't remember the name but they were on the Stephen Nolan show last year around the time that girl was up in court for having an abortion. Hopefully you can find them and they can advise. Best of luck

SaltyMyDear · 18/06/2017 06:04

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time doing something which should be so simple.

Could you rent a P. O. box in Belfast from Mail Boxes Etc ( www.mbe.co.uk/ )?

fruitlovingmonkey · 18/06/2017 06:07

Sending you love Flowers.
It is horrible that you have to have extra stress. It's your body, you can make the decision that is right for you. We will not judge you.

MissDuke · 18/06/2017 06:11

I don't know what a parcel motel is so cannot advise, but I reiterate what a previous poster said - is NI really any better??? I think you just need to get on with ordering it to be honest, you are running out of time an need to get this done. I think I would go ahead and order to a post office in ROI and see what happens.

YoureNotASausage · 18/06/2017 06:17

For the record, Northern Ireland is stricter on abortion than ROI. Maybe OP and other posters don't know that?

I just wanted to say that again in case it's some misconception that NI being UK means it's legal. It is not legal here and it's worse than ROI where they turn a blind eye.

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/06/2017 06:19

Flowers. I hope you manage to get what you need.

CiderwithBuda · 18/06/2017 06:20

I'm afraid I don't know th answer but wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and hope you manage to get it somehow.

mygorgeousmilo · 18/06/2017 10:35

I hope it works out OP. I'm another that had heard from someone at some stage that it was better in ROI but can't be sure. Wishing you all the best Flowers

Areyoufree · 18/06/2017 10:38

The idea of women going through this, at home, with no support is heartbreaking. I am so sorry you are going through this, OP, I hope you find the help you need.

HildaOg · 18/06/2017 10:41

Have it delivered to your door. You won't be prosecuted in the unlikely event it's picked up in the south. My sister and a couple of friends have all had it delivered to their homes without any issue.

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 18/06/2017 10:43

I am in Ireland and I would parcel motel it to be honest. If it gets siezed, then it's at the depot, not when you go to pick up.

What a horrible situation you are in OP. I love Ireland but by Christ the abortion laws are archaic. I remain hopeful we will have a referendum on this.

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 18/06/2017 10:43

Thinking of you OP. I'm also Irish and the lack of bodily autonomy we have here makes my blood boil.

dinkarink · 18/06/2017 10:45

Is it not also illegal in NI?

NotSoHankyPanky · 18/06/2017 10:47

Irish as well and appalling this has to happen. Parcel wizard from dpb are excellent and lots of updates etc.
