I'm so sorry OP, but please know that most people who get meningitis make a great recovery.
Just ask any questions you have, everyone will help.
Do you have someone with you? Flowers

claraschu · 01/06/2017 04:38

My son had meningitis when he was 3 days old. It was an awful ordeal, being hospitalised with iv antibiotics, but he was absolutely fine.
What results are you waiting for?

What results are you waiting for OP? I know blood cultures and LP results can take a little while.
My DS2 was being treated for suspected meningitis when he was just 5 weeks old, it turned out in the end to be sepsis. He was very poorly and needed a lot of medication and it was absolutely terrifying. But he was completely better in a couple of weeks and now 5 months later you would have never of known.
They're tough little things, be kind to yourself OP Flowers

DD had suspected meningitis when she was 19 days old. Turned out to be sepsis and she was very ill for awhile. Hospital were absolutely fantastic and I owe her life to them.
She's nearly 3 now and you would never know that she'd once been ill.
Keep strong OP. Lots of hugs to you and your DS x
