To think that the BBC are showing a clear labour bias?

I am basing this mostly on their news webpage. Over the last two weeks Corbyn has been smiling, looking benevolent, or standing at a podium on the BBC news home page nearly every day. Each time the headline has been pretty positive 'labour announce that' type thing. In contrast, May has been almost completely absent and Tory headlines have been negative 'Tories shown to be wrong'. I noticed this a few weeks ago so have been screen shot-ting a couple of times a day for the last two weeks (yes a bit mad I know). I have noticed a similar trend with the Radio 4 headlines though haven't been able to check that one. The question time audience last week was unquestionably partisan.

I did wonder if the Tories had hidden May or just decided not to bother campaigning but even then I thought the BBC were meant to be impartial?

Yabu - I'm not a labour supporter but I've got to say for years the BBC has been the Tory propaganda channel so if it seems they're appearing more left wing perhaps it's just that they're not singing the Tory song so loud right now and not showing actual bias.

It isn't bias to report On news just because the Labour Party are on the left.

I think it's because you're so used to major news sources being so far right (whatever you read)0 that anything to the left of that (or neutral ) seems bias to the left.

The Beeb has been repeatedly slagging off Corbyn for months. As it happens I don't like Corbyn, but the degree of bias has still been embarrassing.

Sorry have you listened to/watched Laura Kuensburg at any point during this campaign??? She's the BBC's political editor and is so unbelievably biased towards the Tories I can no longer watch her reports.

I'd say the opposite. Most of the BBC's political correspondents are Tory supporters. Paxman is a Tory. I always feel they are blatantly biased towards Tories.

The audience in the debate tonight though didn't seem to be very supportive of the Tories - but it could be that the others were just more vocal.

I live near Cambridge, it's a left-wing seat having swung from Lib Dem to Labour by a small majority at the last election. There will have been few Tory supporters in the audience last night.

The reason that May hasn't featured as much is due to her keeping a relatively low profile.

Corbyn's failure to recollect a childcare figure was refreshed every 20-30 minutes on the live news feed yesterday and was the main headline on the BBC's homepage.

I think the BBC have tried to remain impartial but have fallen short - mainly due to the bias of some editors.

It was an invited audience. Based on current standings in the polls and split according to those who voted Brexit or Remain. So plenty of Tory supporters in the audience. They just didn't seem to agree with Amber Rudd.

The BBC genuinely try to be neutral. However, they are mainly a London based liberal leftie group who support remain and dislike socialism. They are unaware of their own bias, which is generally left but not as far as Corbyn.

No it isn't. The BBC is acknowledged to have a right wing bias. It has certainly had a bias against JC all the way through this election. BBC news is based in Salford. I think they are aware of their own bias.

The media is quite left wing imo. (excluding several newspapers.)

And most celebrities are too!

Well there are probably some right wing celebrities, but they won't dare admit it or they will be eaten alive by the extreme left on social media. Twitter is the worst! I am not right wing, but people on twitter and rabid!

OP are you kidding?! The BBC and the majority of the media are so clearly right wing. Whether you support him or not Corbyn has been dreadfully maligned and misrepresented in the mainstream media. I have refused to watch the BBC news for over a year now because I want to see a more balanced representation of political parties and policies before I decide who I should vote for. I've been shocked and appalled at their treatment of Corbyn.

The audience on these election programmes are chosen specifically to represent the general public and their political views. May is absent at the moment because she chooses to be, not because she's not getting fair air time.

People in the arts have always historically leaned towards the left. That is their choice. You have Noel Edmonds and Jimmy Saville (ooops)

You must be joking. Laura Kuenssberg is notorious for her anti-Labour bias.

Or it could have been the fact that Rudd was so openly defending the rogue policies of her government, from defending Saudis supporting terrorism while getting plied with our weapons to the food banks and NHS nurses having to use it.
YABU Op. I think it is not BBC's fault Tories have turned this country into a mess. If anything, BBC has served Tories well. They can't do much in a live debate to stop the truth getting applause though, can they?

Laura Keunssberg was found by professional standards to have deliberately misquoted and misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn in her journalistic reports a few months ago. Did she get a reprimand or suspension? Did she hell. Anyone else doing that in a professional role would have had to deal with a consequence.
