If you were at an event like graduating as a Coastguard and Trump said stuff like that, would it even be allowed to boo?

Better not risk it.

The other woman was found guilty of disorderly conduct (or something like that) for laughing at Sessions.

That's the sort of thing in my country we would say was typical of our previous dictatorship (just over 40 years ago). We're still very sensitive about things like that.

TheClaws · 18/05/2017 00:26

Ayyylmao I also wonder if we'll see any apologies or less hysteria once ties to Russia are found and Trump is removed from office.

I'm not going to hold my breath either.

ayyylmao · 18/05/2017 00:36

If legitimate ties to Russia are found, you better believe everyone will abandon Trump. That's the difference between the right and left.

No conservative or patriot would accept any president secretly colluding with any foreign government. You really don't realise this?

However, when no ties to Russia are found, you will simply move on to something else and erase the Russia conspiracy from your mind. I can already see it. 'B.. but his did this, and this, and we can't forget when he said this'.

If legitimate ties to Russia are found, you better believe everyone will abandon Trump. That's the difference between the right and left.

This would usually be common sense ... but you know, I don't think all of them would abandon him. They would throw up the usual excuses - 'but - drain the swamp!' Or 'Hillary did!' Or 'He didn't know what he was doing - he was led into Obama's mess.' You only need to read Breitbart comments to see how his heartland voters will always support him.

For others, it is not just Russia! that is problematic. Reading through these threads you'll see that. The difference with our threads is we do take the time to look at information from a variety of sources and discuss it. We don't support the Trump administration but nor are we blindly alt-left.

ayyylmao · 18/05/2017 01:16

I guess only time will tell. I'll be the first to apologise and admit I was wrong if they find something.

skopu · 18/05/2017 01:19

Don't know who you are or where you're from ayyylmao but don't really care, just de-lurking to say thanks for giving me a laugh tonight and to remind you that DT supporters have long had more than enough reasons to abandon him for his litany of transgressions, abuses of power, lies and screw ups, without Russia!

But just to be fair, let's take a look at his amazing achievements:

Btw, I'm a Brit and went on the women's march in Jan. No I don't expect a medal just sayin'. I'm returning to lurking, I so appreciate this thread!! Smile

Yea, the women's march really showed him.

Pussy hats! Woo!

TheClaws · 18/05/2017 01:53

Ayyylmao, out of interest, why do you support someone who is a sexual sleaze, if not an actual offender? Because you seemed a bit contemptuous of the womens' march, which is all about womens' rights and such.

ayyylmao · 18/05/2017 02:14

I couldn't care less about his personal life. The support for Trump was born out of my dislike for Hillary. The rise of far left lunacy is a serious issue and it is being enabled by 'moderate' liberals everywhere. Hillary would have been a disaster. Not to mention how mind blowingly corrupt she is. The hypocrisy from Trump haters is pretty pathetic.

I'm not saying every Trump hater was a Hillary supporter.

Again, I haven't seen any hard evidence worthy of such mass hysteria. I keep using that word because it's exactly what it is.

Does he sound like an idiot when speaking at times? Yes. Is he literally Hitler? No.

The mainstream media have a massive agenda. It's blatantly obvious. People on this board seem to think anything written in the Washington Post or New York Times is absolute fact.

TheClaws · 18/05/2017 05:02

I'm not going to argue with you, Ayyylmao, as this thread doesn't do arguing. For me, though, I couldn't choose such a lesser person because I disliked the other candidate more. Particularly a morally corrupt one, as 'personal life' habits tend to seep into all aspects of life, including business and work. IMO, we are seeing that with Trump, more and more.

No one thinks he is "literally Hitler". First, if her was literally Hitler he would be dead, and second, he isn't anyway. He does show some fascist tendencies, but he isn't quite that on that scale.

Also, we don't think whatever is written in the Washington Post, NY Times or whatever else is necessarily absolute absolute fact. Have you heard of cross-checking. We do that with every link we post. If you don't, maybe you should start.

TheClaws · 18/05/2017 05:04

Sorry, I just argued, but HTH. Biscuit

Neal Katyal @neal_katyal

B/c v little time on @maddow, here's the deal on Trump firing Mueller: He can.We wrote the special counsel regs knowing that any Pres has 1/

constl power to do so, but we made it hard by regulation. In Part 7 we said SC can be removed "only by the personal action of the AG" and 2/

"for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest,or for other good cause."The reg written to say only AG can fire SC, 3/

but Pres can direct repeal of the reg. He'd have to do so publicly, however. So it forces publicity and accountability for such a choice.4/

But no regulation can stop this, as its part of our constitutional design: The President controls the prosecution power (a key reason why 5/

elections have such impt consequences). The regs try to temper that constl reality w/as much publicity for any interference as possible. 6/6
