Nah. They're pacing the floor and waiting for an advanced copy of the CBO report on Trumpcare.

NannyOggsKnickers · 16/05/2017 20:42

lion I hope so but part of me is afraid that they aren't smart enough to get it together. At the moment they all seem to have a major glitch in their operating systems- all we get are grave concerns and no actions. I also think that they assumed Trump would be easier to manage- more like Dubya- and they're still recovering from the shock that things went south this quicky.

cozietoesie · 16/05/2017 20:47

They've kept him in only to get three main things - and I think they now realise that at least two of them are now unlikely to be achieved. Their heads are spinning.

Oh dear. Another exciting day I missed.

Israel is partner who provided ISIS-related intel that Pres. Trump shared with Russians, gov't officials tell

Bibi won't be happy.
If a certain nation is defenestration happy, Israel is not to be messed with either. Trump should be weary of Mossad.
I hear he'll be visiting Israel soon. Is that still on? He better be careful.

I just remembered that I had posted something on the previous thread about the Russians not needing to place bugs. Before hell broke loose. Shock

Off to buy a lottery ticket.

This has just come to my mind, though I'm sure it must have been quoted before on earlier threads.

“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.”

Though that would tend to imply that Trump is a great man, but he is only a legend in his own mind.

Did someone say that Republicans are finally seeing reasons to impeach Trump, because by leaking state secrets he has broken his Presidential oath, or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

The problem for many politicians is that a great many of the possible grounds for impeachment so far - and there have been many if people were minded to act on them - would apply to politicians apart from 45. They pretty well can/have to put their hands on heart and decry blabbing about secrets, though.

GingerIvy · 16/05/2017 21:15

It looks like he's even turning on Kushner. Me thinks he's falling apart.

NannyOggsKnickers · 16/05/2017 21:18

That's just what I was thinking cosie. How do they take down Trump but leave Pence and Ryan et al unblemished? Maybe that's why they are stalling. They need to puzzle out the ultimate magic trick!

They might be left 'free and running' but they can't be unblemished.

CaveMum · 16/05/2017 21:22

It is times like these that I am reminded of this quote from Douglas Adam's and the sublime Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy:

It is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Scary: Trump aides 'fear' leaving him alone in meetings, he's too daft to understand intelligence

There is a fear among some of Mr. Trump’s senior advisers about leaving him alone in meetings with foreign leaders out of concern he might speak out of turn. General McMaster, in particular, has tried to insert caveats or gentle corrections into conversations when he believes the president is straying off topic or onto boggy diplomatic ground.

You know that argument last night... was it about who was going to do the babysitting next?

cozietoesie · 16/05/2017 21:24

With Xi as your bestie, though, Red, who needs to understand intel? Smile

cozietoesie · 16/05/2017 21:28

There was a very bad joke going around about 45 - upon being told that the US had launched 57 (?) Tomahawks - saying 'Wouldn't we have been better off using missiles?'

People laughed at the time, I believe.
