I know I am NBU but I just need to see if everyone else would be as fuming as I am.

DH has just picked DCs up from school. Last night DH cooked delicious roast chicken dinner. He was in charge of clearing up afterwards. There were two chicken pieces which he left on the hob in the roasting tin. I thought he was going to give them to the dog.

DD aged 7yrs has just come upto me and told me that she's just eaten two pieces of chicken and it was delicious!

I've checked...DH didn't heat up the chicken, which has been on the top of the hob in our warm kitchen, *(ie not in the fridge) for approximately 10 hours.

I thought she'd just swiped them, but no, DH gave them her to eat. FFS!

She'll be fine.

I wouldn't let the DCs eat them, but probably wouldn't be too cross, either. If there's an upset stomach later your DH will have lots of laundry/carpet cleaning to do.

I'm more surprised you have written five paragraphs on it. It's really not that horrendous. If she gets the poo poos later (highly unlikely) then let your H see to her!

Are you in the UK or somewhere tropical? If the former, relax - if they were properly cooked through yesterday she'll be fine.

I left a chicken breast in the oven accidentally overnight recently, the oven was switched off.
Ate the meat the following day, it was absolutely fine.

I would eat it, I would feed my dc it, Wouldn't cross my mind not to.

Chicken can make you ill weeks later and you wouldn't associate it with the chicken

My partner and his parents are from a farmers background love the touch raw chicken and don't wash their hands afterwards!!! MIL once tried to serve me cooked while chicken which had sat in oven for 3days POST cooking. I was pregnant. I didn't eat it obv but they all did. Boak!

Basically my point is.. I wouldn't eat it therefor would not expect a child to just incase plus it should be refrigerated at the very least

Actually I'd be more worried that he was going to feed cooked chicken bones to the dog.

I'd be annoyed, 1) because DH has from for abandoning leftovers and food waste annoys me, and 2) because you shouldn't feed questionable food to DCs. But I wouldn't be fuming, I'm sure she'll be fine. I'd be more annoyed if it were a longer time or a younger child.

It's fine, done that loads of times when I've cooked chicken and it's too warm to go in the fridge.

I leave stuff cooked on the hob for a couple of days. Don't see the problem.
