To ask how you stay fit

ADayGivingMeHope · 18/04/2017 15:28

I like food!
But I also like to stay fit so I have to work out very regularly.
My workout routine isn't fun. At. All.

What do you do to stay fit?

Walk. Miles. Although it doesn't quite control the input - just contemplating adding in a workout or two a week.

rightsofwomen · 18/04/2017 15:32

I run and swim and do boot camp.

There must be some activity which you enjoy and will keep you fit OP.
You just need to find it and make it work for the time and resources available to you.

And you can still like food but not have to work out massively. Just eat less!

Pinkheart5915 · 18/04/2017 15:33

I eat well, try not to over indulge too often.

I go for a run every morning, while lovely mil watches over the babies.
I do 1 pole dancing class, 1 Zumba class a week
I go in the home gym with dh a couple of nights a week as well and there is always sex Wink

tinydancer88 · 18/04/2017 15:38

Run, do spinning & Body Pump classes, some yoga at home, try and walk on my lunch break every day at work, and will be swimming again once a problem with my ear has sorted itself out.

Still have to watch what I eat though, as I can scoff 600 calories much faster and easier than I can burn them off.

Elphame · 18/04/2017 15:40

Walk, walk and walk more... I hated the gym and I'm too unco-ordinated for classes

I have earphones and stream spotify

Sirzy · 18/04/2017 15:41

Run and spinning

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/04/2017 15:41

Running group. When I don't go, I feel that I am letting people down.

Bloggybollocks · 18/04/2017 15:41

I lift weights, heavy weights, 4 times a week. I wouldn't say I enjoy exercise, I've tried but I just don't. I work out to look good naked and not die young basically.

VladmirsPoutine · 18/04/2017 15:42

For me it's largely a mental thing. I know that I look much better in skinny jeans if I'm thinner. I visualise it when I'm at the gym whilst doing a shit load of cardio workouts - treadmill and cross trainer.

Reow · 18/04/2017 15:42

I go everywhere on my bike. 8 miles a day each way to work and back, then a couple of classes during lunch break. Then i'm not losing any of my own free time working out.

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 18/04/2017 15:42

Go Running (hills)
Horse ride
Netball once a week
Walk the dogs (hilly area).
Usually one of these once a day at least keeps weight off.

LonginesPrime · 18/04/2017 15:44

Bodypump and walking.

Oh, and every day, without fail, I think about going for a run..

OhhBetty · 18/04/2017 15:45

I like to give my jaw a really good work out by eating copious amounts of chocolate. It really has to be a daily practice though!

Pigface1 · 18/04/2017 15:48

Walk walk walk - wherever possible. And run twice a week.

Socksey · 18/04/2017 15:49

Gym with some CV and heavy weights 5 or 6 times a week and martial arts about 5 times per week.... lots of walking and other incidental exercise.. .

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 18/04/2017 15:50

Holy crap that's a lot of exercise!

I don't do anything no wonder I've put on 2 stone. I really can't be assed though.. no motivation at all.

ghostyslovesheets · 18/04/2017 15:51

Monday - aerobics (on a trampoline !)
Tuesday - 6k run
weds - bugger all
Thursday - Aerobics again plus a 45 min weight class
Friday - Vodka
Sat - parkrun 5k
Sunday - not much

I eat sensibly and don't drink in the week

FrankensteinsSister · 18/04/2017 15:52

Strength training.

MrsMeeseeks · 18/04/2017 15:52

I cycle everywhere: to work and back, to the shops (with big pannier bags), to visit friends, out socialising, school run...

I also go to Dance Dance Party Party which is like a freestyle exercise class-cum-disco.

clary · 18/04/2017 15:56

I swim a mile or run 3-6 miles every day. I really like both of these. I think your training needs to be something you enjoy.

Loubilou09 · 18/04/2017 15:59

Those who run every day - how long/far do you run please?

Loubilou09 · 18/04/2017 16:00

Apart from you Clary - I can see you run 3-6 miles :) :)

Pinkheart5915 · 18/04/2017 16:03

Lou I run until I get bored really but average about 3- 5 miles a day

skyzumarubble · 18/04/2017 16:03

Powerwave 4x week, run 5k twice a week and walk wherever I can. I do half of the dog walks DH does the other half.

Fitter than I've ever been and more toned but still overweight - I like food too much.

HeyMicky · 18/04/2017 16:07

I keep it short and sweet. The gym near work does a different 30 minute class every day at lunchtime - skipping, boxing, HIIT, circuits, spin - so i just go every day.

And very sadly. no booze during the week.
