I've got loads, my friend thinks I'm a cheapskate says she always chucks hers in the recycling.

I thought that was the point of them?

Why not? Seems a good idea to me.

timeforabrewnow · 02/03/2017 11:40

we do

PurpleDaisies · 02/03/2017 11:40

I thought that's why they were shaped like that. It's just wasteful to get rid of them.

UrethaFranklin · 02/03/2017 11:41

Lots of people use them in that way, I also thought that was the point of them.

Noodoodle · 02/03/2017 11:41

That IS the point of them! Friend is being silly. I always buy those ones if they're on special, specifically to keep them after. They're perfectly sized. Carry on!

IamFriedSpam · 02/03/2017 11:42

I still use some as glasses that were originally nutella pots 10 years ago at uni! (They've survived three international moves). I don't like being wasteful!

ClaireH26 · 02/03/2017 11:42

All my glasses are Nutella jars!

Snowflake65 · 02/03/2017 11:43

I use them too, if you keep the lids they are good for transporting breakfast to work, things like yogurt and granola etc

WatchingFromTheWings · 02/03/2017 11:43

I use them as drinking glasses too.

Snugglepalace · 02/03/2017 11:44

Ah I'm glad I'm not the only one. Although I'm such a bloody Nutella addict I've got the glasses coming out my ears!

I use them for candles but drinks glasses are a pretty good idea 💡

KavvLar · 02/03/2017 11:44

Just warn any guests with nut allergies is all I'd say.

Thefitfatty · 02/03/2017 11:44

We do. I love them.

NinaMarieP · 02/03/2017 11:46

My parents have quite a few of them but I tend to buy the bigger jars as they are better value after all (it has nothing to do with there being more chocolate inside...)

AnarchyKitty · 02/03/2017 11:46

I keep the glass that candles come in. A hot cycle through the dishwasher and voila, glasses, vases, and the ones with lids for cotton wool, bathroom stuff, the possibilities are endless!

TheOnlyLivingBoyinNewCork · 02/03/2017 12:25

The ones with the white plastic popover lid? They ARE drinking glasses, with nutella in. That's the actual point of them.

glitterglitters · 02/03/2017 12:31

My flat mate from Morroco used to do this. Never bothered me. Thought it was quite a French thing to do 😂👌🏼

Hygellig · 02/03/2017 12:45

We do, I thought that was the idea of them.
We have to buy the massive jars now as children are Nutella fiends.

incredibule · 02/03/2017 12:48

The French think it's an insult to be given a drink in a 'mustard glass' IME. Smile

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 02/03/2017 12:49

I do it because I can't bear to waste them but actually they annoy me - too small.

TheCuriousOwl · 02/03/2017 12:51

Definitely use as glasses!

The other good thing they are useful for is containing half a tin of soup. They are exactly the right size for half a tin, when you want to eat half and keep half in the fridge.

peoplepleaser70 · 02/03/2017 12:52

I do it, they are also great for overnight oats x

gamerchick · 02/03/2017 12:56

That is the point of them. How has your friend not twigged?

I love Nutella but dislike palm oil. wish it didn't have it in.

Chasingsquirrels · 02/03/2017 12:59

I've also got a few candle jars as glasses, along with a malteaser spread one. Just look like some of my other, brought, glasses.

Apfelbunny · 02/03/2017 13:00

I do and I get annoyed when dh just sticks them in the recycling bin!
