I've got loads, my friend thinks I'm a cheapskate says she always chucks hers in the recycling.

I thought that was the point of them?

Ah, thanks Viserion I was wondering because it is such a typical German, or Bavarian really, glass shape.

listsandbudgets · 02/03/2017 15:03

I thought that's what they were for...

wonder if we can get them to make pint sized ones?

whatsbehindthegreendoor · 02/03/2017 15:22

We always used to do this - in fact, I seem to remember back in the distant past there used to be designs on some of them (possibly The Simpsons or something) and you had to collect the whole family?!

PrimalLass · 02/03/2017 15:27

Perfect size for a glass of wine...

cuckooplusone · 02/03/2017 15:39

Nearly all my small glasses used to hold umbrella! I keep the lids and use for salad dressings etc.

I also have an old pint sized mustard jar of the same type from France which has convenient measures on the side for quantities of different stuff (farine, riz and so on).

cuckooplusone · 02/03/2017 15:40

Pesky autocorrect! It's nutella I tell you (not umbrella)!

BrokenRing · 02/03/2017 15:40

We use them as glasses for juice or pastis or night-time glass of water.

And at Christmas they're good for jam or chutney etc gifts: I make lemon curd and put a circle of material over the top of the lid and tie off with Christmas ribbon, as presents for people who like my lemon curd.

We also use the smaller French mustard jars/glasses too.

However, we're working through a 1kg jar of Nutella right now Grin so it's going to be ages before we can buy the glass sort again.

I love the image of the former nutella jar stuffed with tiny umbrellas - regular, or cocktail?

ThePopcornPolice · 02/03/2017 16:05

I have several that I use as glasses!

CosyNook · 02/03/2017 16:06

We have a cupboard full. Good for keeping jellies fresh with their little white lids

toffeeboffin · 02/03/2017 16:08

I thought this was what you were supposed to do with them, n'est pas?

Notso · 02/03/2017 16:08

They are so useful. I love them.

I hate GU pudding ramekins though. I used them to pee in for pregnancy tests but nothing else.

toffeeboffin · 02/03/2017 16:10

Not sure why really, not like they're speshal or anything Confused

Clandestino · 02/03/2017 16:10

I like keeping some jars and use them as glasses. We recycle the rest.

Crunchyside · 02/03/2017 16:10

Notso Ha, that's what I've used mine for too, they are the perfect ramekin for seeing in Grin I think I stuck them all in the recycling now though, I kept hoarding them but they're not much use for anything, the bottoms aren't even flat so you can't really use them for tealights either!

BellonaBelladonna · 02/03/2017 16:10

Oh dear lord, another thing to stress over with nut allergic dc!

Crunchyside · 02/03/2017 16:11

Seeing in? Meant to say weeing in Grin

AllllGooone · 02/03/2017 16:15

They're the only drinking glasses we have! Thought that was their purpose!

Footle · 02/03/2017 16:27

I get mild mustard from a Polish food shop, among other good things, and choose the kind that comes in small beer mugs.

hackmum · 02/03/2017 16:30

All our glasses are the Nutella ones! We used to have nice ones but they broke.
