If you have stuff that has to be soaked before being washed do you:

a) fill it with water and leave it on the work surface next to the sink (risking spillage)

b) leave it in the sink in the washing up bowl (meaning you can't fill the kettle)

Please vote now. My marriage is in jeopardy. We need to know who is being unreasonable it's DH

A. Greasy grot does not go in the sink unless it is actively being washed.

We do B now, but only after filling the kettle first. This is an argument we've had in our house too.

MrsandMrsSmith · 24/02/2017 19:15

Usually one of both Grin

AlmostAJillSandwich · 24/02/2017 19:16

I HATE when my dad leaves stuff to soak in the sink. I have OCD and hate having to drag a load of stuff out of the sink to wash my hands because it gets contaminated by me touching it so i can't put it back in after and left on the side it risks him touching it then other stuff. I'd much rather he left it on the worktop an put boiling water in it there so the sink is left clear.

humblesims · 24/02/2017 19:16

A. (drives me doolally, people leaving stuff in the sink).

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 24/02/2017 19:16

I would do B but only if it leaves enough room to get the kettle under.

Otherwise I leave it on the stove

bunnylove99 · 24/02/2017 19:17

Fill kettle first, then B. Or fill kettle with a cup. I wouldn't want to risk spills/buckled worktops from split water etc with A.

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 24/02/2017 19:17

Definitely A. You can't just block the whole sink till you're ready to wash up, it's not practical.

StillaChocoholic · 24/02/2017 19:17

A.
Nothing goes in the sink unless it's actually being washed up.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:17

I should add that this is an overnight thing if anyone wants to change their answer... so cold greasy water.
