If you have stuff that has to be soaked before being washed do you:

a) fill it with water and leave it on the work surface next to the sink (risking spillage)

b) leave it in the sink in the washing up bowl (meaning you can't fill the kettle)

Please vote now. My marriage is in jeopardy. We need to know who is being unreasonable it's DH

A. A. Always A!!

GeorgeTheHamster · 24/02/2017 19:23

The only solution is a double sink.

BarbarianMum · 24/02/2017 19:24

A.

CaptainBraandPants · 24/02/2017 19:24

B. But we have a half sink, too, so can still fill the kettle.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:24

Mind you he also washes loads of stuff up first before he loads the rest of it into the dishwasher. I maintain that this is ridiculously fucking inefficient and the dishwasher could be running while he washes up the stuff that doesn't fit.

Can't you fill it up and put it in an empty sink? Room to fill kettle but no slops on the work surface.

passthewineplz · 24/02/2017 19:26

B! mine is there from last night! 😂 But in my defence I don't use the kettle to make hot drinks

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:27

Fairly small sink. Fairly big pan. Anything in it means no room for kettle. I need a bigger house. And a double sink. Ooh. And a utility room. And a butler.

A. Morning cup of tea should never be impeded by cold manky dish water.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:29

I think he may be influenced by the fact that I leave the house first and usually deal with the fallout.

SpackenDeDoich · 24/02/2017 19:30

D I fill it with hot soapy water and leave it on the draining board until I wash it up.

Elendon · 24/02/2017 19:31

Leave it on the draining board or the cooker in an oven tray. My oven tray always has liners if roasting.

OneLumpOrSeven · 24/02/2017 19:31

B. Although DH does have a habit of leaving things to soak for the rest of our lives and I end up washing it.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:32

No room on draining board. If we cant even wash up properly do you really think we are up to date with drying and putting it all away? Wink

OP posts:
Elendon · 24/02/2017 19:32

You have a dishwasher? Most dishwashers do pre wash.

Janey50 · 24/02/2017 19:32

I would say B. This is because my DM had a habit of putting water on everything, and I do mean everything, that had been used for food. Even a plate that had a small spot of grease on it from a sandwich would be covered in water and sat by the side of the sink. Then I would come along, without my glasses on,pick up the plate/bowl/oven tray to put in the sink and promptly throw water all over the place.Angry

HelenaWay · 24/02/2017 19:33

A

CherieBabySpliffUp · 24/02/2017 19:33

A but leave it on the draining board so least chance of spillage

dudsville · 24/02/2017 19:34

Neither. Things that can be washed get washed. Then the kettle filled, then the things that need to soak get to soak while you have a cup of tea. THEN they MUST be washed. Nothing worse than sticking your hand in a sink of cold gross water.

Mol1628 · 24/02/2017 19:34

A. Really annoys me when stuff is left in the sink.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:36

Elendon - see previous post re draining board... one day we will function like adults.

Wheresthattomoibabber · 24/02/2017 19:37

I want that.

OP posts:
ineedwine99 · 24/02/2017 19:37

Fill it then sit it on the draining board so can still use the sink

notangelinajolie · 24/02/2017 19:37

A. I hate stagnant dirty pots in sinks.
