Is he actually real? Does he talk a fake language? Can he actually play the fiddle? Why do his women orchestra players wear such extraordinary frocks? What century is he in? What country?

I have seen some of his DVD's and I'm always amazed by how many orgasm strange faces he pulls when conducting!!!

I don't get him. All he is is a violinist. I find him slightly repugnate.

He's like crack cocaine for the over 70's,Grin my mum loves him so I bit the bullet and took her to see him The crowd went going crazy for him !mum loved it , I might have to bite same bullet again and take her back!

MIL adores him. I watched a show with her one Christmas and now I love him too. I've made her promise we will go and see him somewhere fantastic.

Took my DM to see him just before Christmas, she loves him. I went along expecting to hate it, he was fantastic. The atmosphere he creates is amazing, the music was beautiful, everyone was in great spirits. Would definitely go back to see him.

I find him utterly creepy. I'm 57 so I guess I'm approaching his target audience, but if I ever like him, please kill me. He is smug. I dare say he's a good violinist. Probably all the orchestra are good players. But, oh, that clarinet lady in the silly dress. Andre and his smirky posturing.

I love classical music but run a mile from this bunch.

Archimandrite · 19/02/2017 19:02

I think he's the Barry Manilow of light classical music. He has that same quality that make older women melt. Well obviously not all older women (I'm in my late 50's and I can't stand his music/performances and have to turn the radio straight off when he is on), but enough older women to make him minted. And good luck to him. He seems a competent player but a proper virtuoso like Maxim Vengerov or Hilary Hahn is light years away from him. But then he's not appealing to the same audiences so it doesn't matter.
