Hoping to see justice at work

GrouchyKiwi · 07/02/2017 18:24

Yes, I really hope those two Senators don't face reprisals for having the integrity to vote against the party line.

MercyMyJewels · 07/02/2017 18:26

Pence believes in creationism.

He doesn't believe that dinosaurs walked the earth.

Holy Sweet Jesus help us all if he ends up in power.

PlectrumElectrum · 07/02/2017 18:30

Im waaay behind today so apologies if this has already been posted

As angry spice has apparently been undermined in trump's eyes as he's been owned mocked by a woman on SNL, Rosie O'Donnell has been suggested as Steven Bannon for the next SNL instalment- Rosie has confirmed she's up for it.

I so hope this happens - if it's half as good as Melissa McCarthy's take on spicer it'll really piss DT off Grin

BiglyBadgers · 07/02/2017 18:32

I am going to share with you all this Buzzfeed article that explains executive orders, the difference between the USA and American system, and the current situation with the immigration ban all through the medium of super cute pictures of dogs...Many of them wearing hats. Enjoy! Grin

👍👌☝👍👌☝👉☝👌👉👈👍

Even better if Rosie O'Donnel does it.

Ignore my comment below the quote. I "read" Melissa. Grin

as an interesting aside, we do have a bear policy for school. the children go inside and we close the door and call Fish and Wildlife. Bizarrely, have never had to implement the policy, because, y'know, the grizzlies tend to run the other fucking way when two hundred kids run outdoors yelling at each other.

We have actually implemented a lockdown due to a random white dude with what turned out to be an air pistol robbing a house a few miles away though.

MercyMyJewels · 07/02/2017 18:35

DeVos' brother is Erik Prince, founder of the infamous Blackwater, a massive private militia who sold their 'wares' to Bush and Cheney's 'former' company Halliburton in Iraq.

They have been 'disbanded' due to various scandals and massacres. Have a google for him, interesting stuff

It was bad enough with Bush, but Trump's cabinet is filled with his billionaire donors. He is not 'draining the swamp', he is stocking it

PausingFlatly · 07/02/2017 18:36

Yeah but.

Yes, we're all getting off on the WH looking like chumps for inability to spell, being hopelessly inaccurate, and being biased in selection of incidents.

But. Look what we're talking about.

People Trump-ishly inclined aren't going to care about the careful rebuttal of the claim incidents were "unreported" - or even that many on the list aren't terrorist incidents. (They've never given a shit about details like truth before, why start now?) The outcome of Angry Spice's accusation is people are seeing a list of "Islamist terrorist attacks" reported by the BBC.

It's like the strategy of forcing someone to deny they had sex with a dead pig: there's no winning play against this.

Lweji · 07/02/2017 18:40

DeVos confirmation was expected unless some GOP crony suddenly grew a spine or developed a martyr complex.

Two rogue elements are just about tolerable, if they don't lose the majority.

amispartacus · 07/02/2017 18:44

I take the point, Pausing.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/02/2017 18:44

That's a great point, Pausing.

BiglyBadgers · 07/02/2017 18:46

The outcome of Angry Spice's accusation is people are seeing a list of "Islamist terrorist attacks" reported by the BBC.

A very good point pausing. They have successfully got all the media in the world talking very loudly about terrorist attacks. You even have Israel complaining that their list isn't long enough. The people who agree with trump's ban don't give a shit about the reporting of the attacks. They will see this post as vindication of their belief that the world is full of dangerous Muslims who must be kept out of America at all costs.

BiglyBadgers · 07/02/2017 18:47

And pausing wins the 'great point' award for this thread Grin

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 18:47

I wonder how this court case will go today. It's my last hope for a sane world, it really is.

PausingFlatly · 07/02/2017 18:47

Yes, sorry, I didn't mean just talking on MN; talking on all media, worldwide.

Ryan says Obamacare will be repealed and replaced it in 2017, despite Trump saying it might not happen until 2018 cnn.it/2kiytsE

They're going to get rid of it without replacing it, aren't they? And leave millions without medical insurance. And screwed.

If Paul Ryan gets his way, yes

amispartacus · 07/02/2017 18:53

At the same time - look how it plays abroad with allies - he has to work with other countries and the people in those countries are going to be concerned with dealing with someone who acts like this.

Trump's USA cannot do it alone - and this example, as well as others, can be used to undermine him and his cronies and to enable people / countries who have concerns to point to these examples and his actions and ask WTF are we doing dealing with this guy.
