Ah, ah, that was funny.

From the WP link

"“You’ve seen what happened in Paris, and Nice. All over Europe, it’s happening,” he said to the assembled military leaders. “It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported. And in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it. They have their reasons, and you understand that.”

"The comment immediately hearkened back to comments from senior adviser Kellyanne Conway on MSNBC last week."

“I bet it’s brand-new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre,” she said. “Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.”"

Is he saying there was a Bowling Green Massacre that was covered up?

So, not only are scientists covering up for death rays, but also a neuralizer?

The Don should be watching different movies. I'm thinking Schindler's List or Sophie's Choice to start with.

I do know that people can't sit down until the President tells them to.

OTOH - you could say that people stood up for 10 minutes after his speech.

yes, it's not going over well with the media.

A reporter I worked with died in Iraq trying to bring news to America. And Donald "Heel Spurs" Trump claims we try and hide terror news.

....the masterminds behind the Bowling Green Massacre....

Justanotherlurker · 06/02/2017 20:18

Oh come on GingerIvy, just sodding post who you follow on twitter for god sake, this is a forum to discuss things, not just pump shit out from your feed, if you post a link explain why its valid, not just post it because it comes from your echo chamber...

The balance is nonexistent... this is not what MN should be, but is just everyone patting themselves on their back

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/02/2017 20:19

evening all!

Feel free to contribute then. I follow Trump, Hopkins, Piers Morgan, Kelly Anne - just to get a contrast.

I find Trump's tweeting behaviour worrying. Do you?

Do try and catch up on The Fake News Show if you can. It's hilarious and frightening at the same time.

Roussette · 06/02/2017 20:22

The balance is nonexistent So what? There's been countless pro Trump threads in the past, this happens not to be.

You don't have the right to say what MN should be or shouldn't be, you're just another poster. Like us.

cozietoesie · 06/02/2017 20:22

At least it's occupying him, ami. I worry in particular about him maybe becoming bored.

merrymouse · 06/02/2017 20:22

lurker, it would be more effective and interesting if you posted an alternative point of view explaining why you think Trump's speech was effective.

That's a very interesting interview with the fake news writer, Destinysdaughter. Although of course, given all the lies he's claiming to have told, there's no reason to believe he's not lying again.

He's happy to troll both ways, and does seem extraordinarily dim.

"I thought they’d fact-check it, and it’d make them look worse. I mean that’s how this always works: Someone posts something I write, then they find out it’s false, then they look like idiots. But Trump supporters — they just keep running with it! They never fact-check anything! Now he’s in the White House. Looking back, instead of hurting the campaign, I think I helped it. And that feels [bad]... I never thought he’d actually get elected. I didn’t even think about it."

and

"I wrote a lot of crazy anti-Muslim stuff — like about Trump wanting to put badges on Muslims, or not allowing them in the airport, or making them stand in their own line — and people went along with it!"

And his only concern with Facebook et al tightening up on fake news is he might lose his $10,000 a month revenue from it.

I could totally envisage him getting lost in a lingerie dept!!

Do you guys share stuff on Facebook? I've been accused of hysteria and echo chambers but I feel we are way past Godwins law now?

amispartacus · 06/02/2017 20:25

The balance is nonexistent... this is not what MN should be, but is just everyone patting themselves on their back

Umm. I bet there are other threads and topics on here where people pat themselves on the back about a topic..

lareviewofbooks.org/article/normalization-lesson-munich-post/

An excellent read from a world-class expert on the rise of Hitler, about the Munich Post and warnings about normalising Trump.

amispartacus · 06/02/2017 20:28

Do you guys share stuff on Facebook

Twitter - but I do go on people's feeds who have argued differently and raise questions. Sometimes you get abuse. Name calling.

I've been called hysterical, extreme left, a bitch, been told to insert my fingers up myself and got under Hopkins skin. So proud of that.

Pahahaha!

Thank you for the "transcript", ami.

Justanotherlurker · 06/02/2017 20:29

....the masterminds behind the Bowling Green Massacre....

Its a fucking stupid thing say to deceive the public on

In chronological order:
They committed acts of terror in Iraq, no american law enforcement or border protection agency knew this

They go to America

They attempt to finance terror in Iraq from America

They get discovered, arrested, and found guilty of attempting to finance terror in Iraq while living in Bowling Green

Conway changes the story to make it sound scarier and defend the president's travel bans

GingerIvy · 06/02/2017 20:29

toomany feel free to share stuff. I post stuff I see on Twitter, putting the source, so it's clear it's generally a referenced source - news media, etc. - so people know where it came from.

GingerIvy · 06/02/2017 20:30

toomany I posted that the other day, but it's well worth reposting. It's a very good read. Thanks for reposting it - silly me forgot to bookmark it and I'd like to reread it. Smile

Kellyanne Conway Retweeted Mediaite
False. I could do no live Sunday shows this week BC of family. Plus, I was invited onto CNN today & tomorrow. CNN Brass on those emails

But the thing is, she has lied before. She has used alternative facts about the crowd size. So her credibility is shot.

It's very sad when you can't trust anyone.

And yes - the media spin.

What does this image say to you? Then analyse it and ask why it was used and what an alternative explanation is. It does piss me off when the media do this - and ALL media and politicians do it on ALL sides.
