Roussette yes the phone transcripts would be interesting.

cozietoesie · 06/02/2017 19:57

Has FLOTUS really stopped tweeting?

GingerIvy · 06/02/2017 19:57

ami Grin Not that there's a pattern at all.

merrymouse · 06/02/2017 19:57

Haha, come on merrymouse, you have stood by your name for a long time, don't pretend that you of all people put people in boxes.

Wow, I'm a recognisable MNer!!!!

Although you might be confusing me with all the other MNers with a 'merry' name.

I make every effort not to put people in boxes and have never made any comment about MN in general except that there is a lot of discussion of loo brushes, (in which I have participated).

I might argue about opinions and facts, and sometimes argue a point to death, but I'm afraid I don't recognise you. I'm arguing your points, not attacking who you are.

GingerIvy · 06/02/2017 19:58

cozie I think she only ever did 1 tweet, didn't she? Confused

Badders123 · 06/02/2017 19:58

Who's leaking the phone call texts?
Disgruntled staffers?

Some of Trump’s advisers want a new civil war – we must not let them have it
www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/06/some-of-trumps-advisers-want-a-new-civil-war-we-must-not-let-them-have-it?CMP=share_btn_tw

IMO Gingrich should have been put out to pasture years ago.

Badders123 · 06/02/2017 20:03

Just imagine though!!!
Working for president Obama or Michelle
and then having to work for that orange gibbon 😳😖

CaveMum · 06/02/2017 20:03

The Fake News Show is on Channel 4 right now, funny and scary at the same time.

FarAwayHills · 06/02/2017 20:04

Given his obsession with radical Islam, he seems to have lost focus on those people - who I suspect are probably far more concerned with jobs than the threat to them from radical Islam.

^
This

Those who voted for him will soon run out of patience if the jobs and promises to improve their lives fail to materialise. Especially if his main focus continues to be on obsessing over his own popularity while simultaneously doing his best to start WW3.

Badders123 · 06/02/2017 20:05

I do t know if I can watch cavemum 😖

SanFranBear · 06/02/2017 20:06

Apologies as I can't remember who posted it but the article which fully explained why and how we could be heading towards WW3 was absolutely fascinating - and terrifying in equal measure.

It didn't pull any punches and stated quite clearly that it was the pull back by the Obama administration which gas basically set up the existing global climate as the two biggest threats (Russia & China) now feel they can push further and harder, believing that the US will remain America First.

The fact we (the UK) are also looking to go it alone via Brexit upsets and worries me even more now I've read that. I was a very strong Remainer for different reasons (freedom to travel & study for my DC mainly - plus, I'm a 'liberal leftie' and strongly believe we're better together) but I think if I'd read an article like this before the referendum, I would have been much more passionate about the potential fallout of of a Leave vote.

It's pretty depressing really Sad

I have however just watched all the SuperBowl ads which made me smile a little. Couldn't work out what a lot of them had to do with what they were flogging - particularly the timber one or was it saying that even though the wall might get built, they'll happily employ people who enter the country illegally??! Anyways, clear messaging from most of those companies that Americans are all one people regardless of race, colour or creed..

For what it's worth, no one in Centcom auditorium not even supporter in civvies and red cap clapped when Trump criticized the media.

I suppose this is at least heartening for the media present, who were hearing him state that they were ignoring terrorist acts.

Justanotherlurker · 06/02/2017 20:07

Do you think Trump's obsession with radical Islam is the key issue for his core voters?

I don't - I think they want jobs and to do better. I wish Trump would focus on that. Give them hope.

Don't think Trump has an issue with Islam/Muslims initself, its a wider symptom, both sides are playing the extremes and there is no nuance, everyone digs into their trench and that's it..

The rust belt, just as the northern working towns in the UK have been abandoned, the left are more Globalist than what the right ever where, unfortunately the pendulum has swung, there was a recent poll that pointed to millennials being more conservative than their parents (cant find it on here for balance), for some reason trying to make get your own citizens work is somehow an evil thing..

Roussette · 06/02/2017 20:07

Another life from fat orange one then

He says Kuwait has followed up with a ban of the same countries that Trump has/wants to.

Kuwait “categorically denies these claims and affirms that these reported nationalities … have big communities in Kuwait and enjoy full rights,” a ministry spokesman was quoted as saying

This says it all...
"To be sure, plenty of people have made mistakes like these. Folks see a report via social media, they don’t pay too much attention to the source or its credibility, and they eagerly share content that reinforces their preconceived ideas and worldview.

The difference is, this isn’t the kind of mistake a Leader of the Free World is supposed to make. When your weird uncle does it on Facebook, it’s annoying. When a president of the United States does the same thing, there are real-world consequences."

I would love to see the crowd reaction - I know you probably can't because of security.

I would also love to know who was invited and how they were chosen.

I am very cynical nowadays.

ami I imagine we'll see a tweet about his 15 minute standing ovation. He won't dare have Angry Spice bring it up, for fear of re-enacting the Melissa McCarthy skit. Grin
