As requested from a previous thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2823906-to-think-you-should-ignore-people-having-a-go-at-you-if-you-are-the-President-Elect-of-the-USA?

It's going to be a beautiful thread. MNers, who by the way are amazing, can contribute as much as they want.

Just tuned back in after dinner & bath/bed time with small ones and my goodness - this is dull! No crowds and no excitement or whooping (oh wait - small whoop just then!) although I do like the arrow of motorbikes with their funky lights Smile

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 20/01/2017 20:58

I know some of you are trying to get back to the light jollity that was so much in evidence on this thread, but I can't see anything to feel cheerful about. Watching that inauguration has totally bummed me out.

The only thing which has slightly lifted my spirit are some of the more recent posts on the Guardian live blog showing all the women headed to DC for tomorrow's rally. The fight back begins... That was a classy move, organising it for his first full day in office.

Roussette · 20/01/2017 21:00

Hahaha... the Secret Service have got their work cut out! A pathetic crowd, the motorcade cavalcade with Trump in his armored vehicle moving at walking pace and someone shouts out bloody loud "YOU FUCKER"!!!

We can laugh or we can cry.
So, I'll keep laughing at him.

saffronwblue · 20/01/2017 21:04

Just got up here in Oz. dear God it is really true. Motorcade looks like a funeral.

originalmavis · 20/01/2017 21:04

Clip please rousette?

Roussette · 20/01/2017 21:11

Don't have it mavis I was watching it live on Sky. They had to say "oh dear, excuse the language" !!

originalmavis · 20/01/2017 21:12

It must be on.youtube!

Cherrysoup · 20/01/2017 21:16

And part of his inauguration speech was quoting Bane from Batman?! I'm dying!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2017 21:19

I'm kind of in love with the woman in purple with her fingers in the air! She doesn't give a flying fuck :D

Roussette · 20/01/2017 21:43

I did laugh at this Grin

I have the longest ties..

HateSummer · 20/01/2017 21:47

So he still talked about the rapists of Mexico and the Muslims, albeit overtly. Savages and radical Islam = normal everyday Muslims in his eyes. what a fucking cunt. I don't normally wish death on someone but he's a complete and total shit. I hope something bad happens to him.

HateSummer · 20/01/2017 21:49

covertly.

squishysquirmy · 20/01/2017 22:07

HateSummer, I don't normally wish harm on anyone but I am hoping he is forced to retire due to the worst piles known to medical history. I am desperately hoping, however, that he isn't assassinated, and if he is (or worse, if there is an unsuccessful attempt) that's it's not done by a black person, and immigrant or a muslim.
Can you imagine the repercussions of an unsuccessful assassination attempt against Trump by a Muslim?

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 20/01/2017 22:14

So he still talked about the rapists of Mexico and the Muslims, albeit overtly.

Freudian slip?

HateSummer · 20/01/2017 22:20

squishy I agree. No assassination, but big bursting fat piles or a heart attack will be fine.

He'd need a heart first though.

Roussette · 20/01/2017 22:27

No, please, no assassination, never. That would make him into some sort of saint and saviour. I'd prefer a military coup than that TBH!

squishysquirmy · 20/01/2017 22:31

There must be the odd ghost haunting the white house - the afterlife must be fairly dull, so wouldn't it be great if they spent the next four years placing lego bricks and upturned plugs at the side of Trump's bed for him to step on every single morning until he's impeached?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 20/01/2017 22:31

There never a grassy knoll when you need one...

squishysquirmy · 20/01/2017 22:32

Aww, horses in the parade. That's lifted my spirits.

squishysquirmy · 20/01/2017 22:35

Am I hallucinating or are did they just play something like God save the Queen in the parade?
