To want a 7 seater car that actually has a decent boot?!

Trying to find a 7 seater car that has a good sized boot with all seats in use.
Why do most of them have the tiniest boot?

Can anyone recommend one that is be able to fit a pram in?

Probably because otherwise they'll be too long to fit in parking spaces... try a minibus!

Can you not fit an umbrella stroller like maclaren in the back? Downsizing the pram might be the best option if all the ones you've looked at already are too small. x

Biggest I've found on a 7 seater is the Alhambra but still not huge!

WaitrosePigeon · 08/01/2017 12:03

My Mum has a Discovery Sport. The boot is massive!

GatherlyGal · 08/01/2017 12:04

We have a VOlvo XC90 with a decent boot.

Ilovecaindingle · 08/01/2017 12:04

Grand scenic fits a buggy and shopping in!

Snowflakes1122 · 08/01/2017 12:49

The minibus idea probably isn't that bad!
Can't get a smaller pram. Will be having DC no4 in June, so need a boot.
I'm thinking XC90 as an option-is it expensive to run?

Will look at the other suggestions too, thanks. Hadn't considered those!

I have a mitsubishi space wagon which has plenty of room

They dont do this one any more but their new 7 seater looks like the same sort of dimensions

LagunaBubbles · 08/01/2017 12:51

My husband is a childminder and has a Renault Megane Grand Scenic. Yes the boot is small when all 7 seats are in use but he manages to fit in his double buggy, whuich is a Baby Jogger I think its called.

rosieandjim2 · 08/01/2017 12:51

Don't get a zafira we have one and looking for a new car for the same reason need a 7 seater with a bigger boot we have looked at shogun (only pics on the Internet ) so not to sure about boot space

3boys3dogshelp · 08/01/2017 12:57

I notice someone has recommended a Discovery sport. We have a discovery sport and it's a great car but the boot is tiny when the extra seats are in use sorry!
A friend of mine has 4 ds's ans she has a be camper with 4 seats facing each other in the back. Looks great for getting everybody in and out too.

kippersandcurtains · 08/01/2017 12:58

Ford SMax - we have the titanium sport version. Big enough bout for camping trip with three children (all in isofix base car seats) in back. Extra two seats in boot. Brilliant & less expensive than the 4x4s.

Because you can't have a car with 7 full seats AND a proper sized boot. That's a minibus.

Alwaysinahurrynow · 08/01/2017 13:02

VW transporter? Sharan has enough space for a buggy and a couple of bags.

DopeyDazy · 08/01/2017 13:02

Hyundai I800 8 seater with huge boot quite cheap to buy and has 5 year warranty

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/01/2017 13:03

Ford smax has much more room in the interior (both leg room and boot) than the discovery sport. Xc90 can't fit rear facing car seats if you're tall

SaucyJack · 08/01/2017 13:05

You can use a 7 seater with only one seat up in the back?

Our Zafira would fit a prawn in the other half of the boot.

SaucyJack · 08/01/2017 13:06

PRAM!

Should fucking well hope any car boot would fit a prawn in.

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 08/01/2017 13:07

If you don't go for something like a VW minibus then definitely the Ford S Max. It's like a Tardis. We hired one on holiday, four adults (one of whom is 6'5") and three tweenage children and all of our luggage fitted comfortably.

LadyPenelope68 · 08/01/2017 13:07

The Discovery Sport doesn't have a big boot if you use all 7 seats.

I have a ford smax since child 3 came along and have hated it from the day I got it. With all 7 seats you can fit a bugaboo bee in the boot but not much else. I'm now looking to buy a Mercedes Vito van. Its got 6 seats (3 in front, 3 in back). Being a small van there's loads of room for all the kit that comes with a large family. It's small enough to get in to car spaces and has sliding doors which helps when getting kids in and out.

RNBrie · 08/01/2017 13:12

We have the Alhambra. With one of the back seats up you can get in a double buggy plus some shopping. The foot wells in the middle row are quite spacious too.

BeyondTheStarryNight · 08/01/2017 13:13

Ford c max grand has a bigger boot than the s max. Or just go with a galaxy.

If you search using the motorbility site, you can search by amount of seats and then compare boot sizes :)

firawla · 08/01/2017 13:16

We have Toyota prévia it has a decent sized boot to fit the pram in, and our 4 dcs in the car. You might have to look at used ones as they don't make them over here now I think, although still made in Japan and a few other countries so some people import them in. It's quite rare that I see another 7 seater that has as much space as ours does so it is a good choice for a big family
