I committed that ultimate MN sin of not actually RTFT, just the first couple of posts, and fired off a PM of support to Spero. Probably garbled, but I hope you got the gist, Spero.

There are a considerable number of supportive and knowledgeable MNetters, of whom Spero is one, who help to make this place a good place to be.

I know it's a bit a joke that some people have a "spreadsheet", but MNHQ should have a good idea of who the good guys are, and do a bit of thinking (and intervening) before hitting the delete button.

Ooh I'll take that for mentioning flouncers corner. I thought such a response was compulsory to an OP like this one, it just came automatically.

But seriously Spero I knew I recognised your name but couldn't place it - you do amazing work and I enjoy reading your contributions. Glad you're not leaving, just rustling your skirts a little

I'm another one who rolls their eyes at "MN isn't what it used to be" and always thought that people were remembering things with rose tinted glasses. However, things have changed and while some is good, there is bad and some people are being proper little precious snowflakes. The Santa thread is pathetic, I cannot believe people reported that. What the actual fuck?! This is a thread where people swear all the time, both in titles, usernames and posts.

Anyway, Spero please don't leave. You're a valued member, as are many people on here. You remind me that MN has lots of good things.
