Young men, with tightly woven, manicured beards, that have been trimmed within an inch of their lives. I find them quite unattractive and slightly pubey.

Do young women actually like these beards?

I can't stand beards on young blokes.

Or at least the beard fashion thing. The beard, quiff and waistcoat type look. Ridiculous.

When in my 20s I dated a guy the same sort of age that had a beard. Horrible scratchy thing that took way too much grooming for a 'scruffy' look IMO.

Father Christmas, Captain Birds Eye, Pirates, Grandads etc they're fine with beards, no problem with them. But under 40's they need a bloody good excuse to get away with it! ;-)

helpimitchy · 30/09/2016 16:59

I really like them and enjoy seeing them Blush

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 30/09/2016 17:00

I loved a beard but not a well groomed one sported by some hipster twat who spends hours tending it

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 30/09/2016 17:00

And never a beard/ man hundreds combo

Grim

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 30/09/2016 17:01

Man bun not hundredsConfused

My dh has a beard and had it before beards were trendy. He grew it because I like beards and because it suits him. I much prefer the rugged look to a very clean shaven look. He is 39 - not sure whether that counts as a young bloke!

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/09/2016 17:03

I think peak beard was about two years ago. They seem to be on the wane now.

RichardBucket · 30/09/2016 17:10

Agree with Mitzy.

...and personally, I'm glad. Not a fan of facial hair.

AndShesGone · 30/09/2016 17:12

Dh has had a beard 14 years, he has a horrible weak chin without it. Is just a well trimmed goatie

My dh has only got something in his beard once (big smear of toothpaste). I have to admit I did laugh a lot and call him Mr Twit for a while (and may have encouraged the dc to call him Mr Twit too....). Luckily he can take a joke!

BerylStreep · 30/09/2016 17:23

I actually think there would be a business opportunity in setting up facial hair feedback panels (FHFâ„¢).

A panel of say 3 people who will give honest and constructive feedback on whether the beard, or its particular style suits someone.

There are some people I would do it for free for.

WinchesterWoman · 30/09/2016 17:23

YY except it was probably last year. We're over the peak and into the trough of despond.

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 30/09/2016 17:43

I love beards. Not too neatly trimmed though. Loads of lovely beards on guys in their thirties / early 40s Smile

Nicky883 · 30/09/2016 17:44

Can not stand a clean shaved man ! So boring :p beards are awesome !

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 30/09/2016 17:47

There are loads of women who've always loved beards but have been deprived for years. Our time has come and we don't want it to peak to soon!

BishopBrennansArse · 30/09/2016 17:50

DH has always had one. I've known him since he was 27 (now 43).

I like it. He'd look wrong without it. But it's not remotely hipster, and I get the clippers out when his 'tache reaches walrus proportions over his mouth or his beard gets even remotely Captain Birdseye.

Sparklingbrook · 30/09/2016 17:50

Urgh YANBU, beards everywhere. YY to man buns being horrible and the beard/man bun combo-just eww.

Beard nets make me smile they look bizarre.

TaterTots · 30/09/2016 17:53

Close male friend went clean shaven about 8 years back for the first time in our friendship. It looked so, so wrong on him. He's never done it since. Some faces were made for beards, regardless of fashion.

ShatnersBassoon · 30/09/2016 18:01

I think they've been dying out for a couple of years, along with megabrows on women.

I knew it was curtains for beards when the young glass collector in the local was telling me he'd used his dad's beard wax to make the fluff he was sporting 'more ironic' Grin

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes · 30/09/2016 18:03

Not a fan of the hipster beard/stupid bouffant hair combo. I saw a guy with a plait in his hair yesterday. A FUCKING PLAIT. Is that a thing now? That's a whole new level of being a cunt.

Sparklingbrook · 30/09/2016 18:05

How about beards that are sort of a pony tail with beads in?

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes · 30/09/2016 18:06

Apologies the plait was in his BEARD not hair.

Maudlinmaud · 30/09/2016 18:06

Speaking of the twits. I was reading it to my class one day and called them mr and mrs twat. Twice.
I like beards.

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes · 30/09/2016 18:11

That's ok you probably got away with it Maudlin plus they kind of were twats

Just don't read them The Witches in case you accidentally call them The Bitches
