... So that I can enjoy the clean bedding all to myself?

As soon as DH goes away I change our bed and lie in the middle of it

PeachBellini123 · 18/09/2016 20:17

DH's conference was cancelled last week. I was so disapointed to miss out on an evening by myself Blush

CannotEvenDeal · 18/09/2016 20:18

Absolutely not unreasonable Grin

MissElizaBennettsBookmark · 18/09/2016 20:19

Glad it's not just me! It smells heavenly because the bedding was dried outside...

Dh has a three night trip away with work and I've specifically booked the time off work. I say it's so I can manage the kids better but it's really so I can enjoy more of the house to myself.

Alittlebitofthis · 18/09/2016 20:23

Yanbu. My dh works away a few weeks at a time. It's bliss. He's been home sick the last few weeks and I'm counting down the weeks till he's away again.

PuntasticUsername · 18/09/2016 20:25

YANBU. There's nothing like those blissful nights of being able to sit up reading as late as you please without worrying about disturbing him with the light, then sleeping like a starfish Smile

Dominithecat · 18/09/2016 20:34

OH has to go away soon for work (quite a rare thing for him) and I am planning on taking over the whole bed and making food for me and my son with cheese. OH hates cheese so I never use it in cooking.

Seen a lovely lasagna for slow cooker with lashings of cheese, heart attack amounts of cheese but still will make it and eat it. Oh and I will get to leave the TV off too. happy days

humblesims · 18/09/2016 20:37

God I love sleeping starfish in a clean bed. Bliss.

M0nstersinthecl0set · 18/09/2016 20:38

Clean bedding; biscuits to myself; sofa to myself, kids snuggled in for an extra hour in the morning. I am loving having dh home recently (usually works away 3-4 nights a week) ... but missing MY time a fair bit.

GrumpyMummy123 · 18/09/2016 20:39

Ah yes.

My DH left today for a business trip. I did smirk to myself when I loaded the dishwasher haphazardly and put it on half full.

Oh the small things.

notbothered12 · 18/09/2016 20:40

Domini you could be me! My DH hates cheese. Tomorrow he is out for dinner with work and I am making macaroni cheese for me in the DC. I like it when he goes away. I watch box sets he hates, eat lotsof cheese and relish the empty bed.

PuntasticUsername · 18/09/2016 20:44

Seriously when I get rich, the first thing I'm arranging is someone to change and wash my bed sheets every. Single. Damn. Day. Mmmmmmmm.

MissElizaBennettsBookmark · 18/09/2016 20:45

Grumpy - same here!! My DH is the self-appointed Dishwasher Chief of Police

sonlypuppyfat · 18/09/2016 20:46

Wish mine would bugger off for a few days

MissElizaBennettsBookmark · 18/09/2016 20:47

Puntastic - Ooohhh that would be bliss.

That's the best thing about staying in hotels for me!

OP posts:
PuntasticUsername · 18/09/2016 20:49

Yes! Love hotels so much! A clean bed that I haven't made or laundered and which (usually) work is paying for...

Poppypoochinachristmascracker · 18/09/2016 20:52

My dp going away for 2 nights this week I can't wait, watch rubbish great films on Netflix, have what I want for dinner and take over bed with fresh sheets of course, bliss

MissElizaBennettsBookmark · 18/09/2016 20:53

I'm quite fond of clean fluffy towels too. Lots of them. Neatly folded in the clean bathroom when DH is away...

YANBU

MissElizaBennettsBookmark · 18/09/2016 20:56

Tell him he needs to take up a hobby Sonly ... One that needs overnight trips Smile

froubylou · 18/09/2016 20:58

Yadnbu.

I love dp madly. Most of the time.

But I love him even more when he works.

SnookieSnooks · 18/09/2016 21:06

YANBU. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when my DP goes on his (thankfully) many business trips. It is like having a break from a badly brought up teenager.... No greasy pans left to fester on the hob, no chocolate wrappers left on the coffee table, no size 12 shoes left in middle of living room floor for me to trip over.

OutOfAces · 18/09/2016 21:11

YABU for starting this thread tonight when my DH has been away all weekend and is coming home tomorrow, and I didn't think to change the bedding!! Can't do it now because I'm already in bed and the baby is asleep in the Moses basket next to me.

I've just been enjoying the lovely clean and tidy house.

I'm totally going to put the dishwasher on half full when I get up for the dreamfeed though.

HelenaJustina · 18/09/2016 21:15

DH is normally away one night a week, but didn't go at all last week. I'm starting to feel a tad claustrophobic! Though it was convenient as I didn't once have to organise a babysitter.
