To think my DD's name is not that unusual....

Her name is Imogen Mary. She is 12 years old. Mary is after my mum, Imogen, well, because I think it's lovely. She has friends called Chloe, Grace, Vanessa, Victoria ((Tori), Layla, Lola, Bethan, Emily etc. I was just looking at threads recently and Imogen never comes up and she said to me today, "Mum, why did you call me Imogen?".

I love the name.

It's quite a normal name around here. Most are known as 'Immy'.

I don't think it's too unusual but I remember getting funny about my name at about the age so perhaps it's a phase?

I don't know many 12 years olds as my DCS are younger but know quite a few Imogens at around age 5

I've got an Imogen and have seen it discounted as a name idea on here for being too popular now. Although our Imogen is the only one we know of and I never seem to hear it being called in the playground etc.

Its not unusual its a nice name i dont know any imogens but i thinks thats to do with the area i live iyswim. I have a name every other girl had in my school year your Dd will be glad of her name

Mine is the only one I know!! My dearest great uncle once said to me after she was born " Imogen xxxxxxxxx (my surname), Dr Imogen xxxxxxxxx, yep, a great name for a Dr or a Solicitor!!!

Forgot to say, I know a 3yo Imogen and a 35 yo Imogen

My dad wanted to call me Imogen. I wish they had. A friend of mine has a girl called Imogen. It's a lovely name. YANBU, but why would you be?

Imogen was on my list 16 and 12 years ago.

I know 4 primary school aged children called Imogen, and a friend's new baby daughter is called Imogen. Lovely name.

I honestly thought when she asked me that I'd landed the poor lamb (😒) with an unreasonable name or something! She has cousins called Joel, Lois and Walter (he's 7 months).

My dd's middle name is Imogen. We live in a German speaking country so it is very unusual but I love it! I don't know msny but i don't think it is unusual in the UK!

I know 2 Imogens. One is a teenager the other is late twenties.

I think for how popular a name is, is whether the tat with names on in gift shops has your dd's name. Does Imogen make the list? My daughter's name was never there when she was little (she always looked). Now she's twenty and no longer desperately wants a glittery ruler with pictures of turtles and her name on it from the London Aquarium, her name is always there.

Not a big fan of shortening names, we literally just call her Imogen. God, it must be another early teen stage (along with the sudden aversion to cleaning her teeth, showering and bringing her dirty laundry downstairs!).

I know an 18 year old Imogen and she is known as Imy

Ha ha, I had a niece who when a child you could never find her name on a mug, ruler, wristband, pencil etc, she was a Vanessa back in the early 90's.
