Her name is Imogen Mary. She is 12 years old. Mary is after my mum, Imogen, well, because I think it's lovely. She has friends called Chloe, Grace, Vanessa, Victoria ((Tori), Layla, Lola, Bethan, Emily etc. I was just looking at threads recently and Imogen never comes up and she said to me today, "Mum, why did you call me Imogen?".

I know an Imogen. I don't think it's unusual - we looked at it on the baby names lists when DD was born 5 years ago.

I like it because it's not as girly as a lot of the current popular names which often end in -a, -ia or -y/ie.

My neighbour's daughter, called Imogen, wanted me to name my DD Imogen too... But, though I love the name, I thought that a tiny village like ours didn't really need a third Imogen as our other neighbour by chance also had a young daughter called Imogen!! I think it is a beautiful name that is not common but not unusual either, but it can be funny how clustering can crop up... I grew up in the same road as 3 Rowenas, all different ages and named before they lived in the road!!

Imogen is a lovely name. DD's name (she's now 16) was not unusual, but has gradually become very popular, but she abbreviated it & likes it. We have a fairly common surname & joke about the fact that in our very small village there's another girl 10 years younger named exactly the same. My first name has been mentioned a few times in this thread. It's ok, not one you hear everyday. I don't love it, but it's not outlandish enough to be embarrassed about & I like it that it usually gets abbreviated.

I love the name Imogen! I know 3, 2 of whom use the full Imogen and one goes by Migsie.
