I did an online shop but had no time to complete so booked my slot, put £40 worth of knobbly bobbly ice creams in the basket and checkout!

Went to complete my shopping and it wont let me change the order as I checked out at 2 mins past midnight!

So now I have 160 ice creams being delivered between 9am and 10am.

I thinking ill just accept the order and we can live on ice cream for a week.

AIBU?

I now have to go actually shopping with 2dc, fuck

^ That is an aisle of various brands of tinned tomatoes, some with herbs etc, not just an aisle of value ones - that would be weird.

MyKingdomForBrie · 18/08/2016 10:50

Now I just really want a nobbly bobbly....

LagunaBubbles · 18/08/2016 10:54

Thanks Op for cheering me up on a rather stressful morning with your picture of 160 Nobbly Bobblys.

FunkinEll · 18/08/2016 10:54

Ha, this is brilliant as is the one mushroom in a bag.

Ocado have a thing where they reserve the same slot for you every week and automatically adds food you buy all the time. Then I just add/ delete depending on what we need.

Zaphodsotherhead · 18/08/2016 11:14

Pop over and take a look at the 'shopping substitutions' conversation currently going on...you'll probably get one pack of Nobbly Bobblies and four hundredweight of sprouts.

blamethecat · 18/08/2016 11:14

This has cheered me up no end ! I actually had to stop reading because I was crying. Grin

DesolateWaist · 18/08/2016 11:17

Friend of mine did similar.
She put on an Asda order, about £60 worth of general stuff, veg, tinned stuff, meat etc but when she was checking out it didn't seem to go through. So she pressed the check out button again, and again, and again.

Yup, three loads of £60 worth of shopping turned up!

Ocado have a thing where they reserve the same slot for you every week and automatically adds food you buy all the time. Then I just add/ delete depending on what we need.

I use that, I love it. I make sure that my automatic food it stuff I will always need or doesn't go off, just in case.

Which reminds me that I haven't edited tomorrows order!

MiscellaneousAssortment · 18/08/2016 11:22

Hee hee!

No ice cream party though ... Sad

Where the substitutions thread? Those things make me laugh, probably more than is merited tbh!

I wonder if the staff do some of the more hilarious subs on purpose? Very naughty but rather tempting surely?!

JockMonsieur · 18/08/2016 11:32

i've ordered 6 x 1kg bags of carrots instead of six carrots before
the kids and DH saw it as a challenge to get through them before they went off, and insisted on being served carrots with everything for the next fortnight week.

I swear DC2 developed a slight orange tinge.

SistersOfPercy · 18/08/2016 11:32

I use the Ocado reserve slot weekly so I'm pretty safe from Nobbly Bobbly disasters, however, I am legendarily bad with numbers and I skim read so I've frequently bought things only to find them miniscule.
A pie for dinner one night, half price at £2.50. I didn't check the weight and thought a £5 pie would be pretty large. Nope, it was for one. DH and I halved it and ate it through much laughter.

Bag of onion rings, bargain at 59p and we were having steak that week. Sadly they were the crisp variety.

Carte D'or Ice cream, 99p. Bargain! It was sample size. The tub fit in the palm of my hand.

When the shopping comes now DH asks if I've ordered any borrower food this week Blush

Motherwithflaws · 18/08/2016 11:38

Anyone up for buying nobbly bobblies today?

justjuanmorebeer · 18/08/2016 11:44

This thread made my morning

Just for cases such as this...

Tesco have been great at taking things back. Accidentally ordered 11 X 4pint cartons of milk as my most recent mess up, they happily returned 10. They even returned the whole order once as I'd double booked Ocado & Tesco. V embarrassing as both vans outside house at once!! I honestly thought Tesco had been cancelled 😳😳

Found Ocado to be less accommodating.

Ghodavies · 18/08/2016 12:20

I'm craving a nobbly nobbly now - not sure I could eat 160 tho!!

erinaceus · 18/08/2016 12:22

We had similar with seven bags of apples turning up instead of seven apples.

I wonder whether this thread will initiate a nationwide nobbly bobbly shortage as MNers pop a box into their weekly shop.

Maybe it is a viral advertising campaign for nobbly bobbly? Who knows?

Grin Borrower Food

Butteredparsn1ps · 18/08/2016 12:29

YABU

Next time order expensive alcohol. Wine

no that's not how I hold my Xmas order at Ocado at all

PrimalLass · 18/08/2016 12:40

I ordered 3 litres of vodka to hold a slot then forgot about it. I was so smug about remembering to order shopping the day after we moved that it was karma.

MTBMummy · 18/08/2016 12:55

Having been reading this chuckling to myself, wondering how on earth you manage to order 1 mushroom, or 60 oranges, but what have I just had delivered 3 kg of sodding carrots!!! I thought I ordered 3 individual carrots to make carrot sticks with.

Off to google things I can make with carrots... FFS

LetLoveWin · 18/08/2016 12:57

My online delivery once arrived with 5 bags of apples!! I must've hit bags instead of just 5 apples. The delivery man took note of my horrified face didn't make me take them.

Winemamma · 18/08/2016 12:57

Hahaha Grin

FatalFemme · 18/08/2016 13:13

OH is a tesco delivery driver. I'm really hoping he comes home today and says 'you'll never guess what happened this morning . . .!' 🍦🍦

scampimom · 18/08/2016 13:13

Not a supermarket, but a friend of mine was thrilled with the antique table she bought on eBay - a real bargain. She couldn't believe it, and kept checking the details. Yes, it was genuine Victorian. Yes, it was solid wood, not veneer. Yes, delivery was free. Yes, it was a UK seller.

It arrived in a large jiffy bag, as it was for a doll's house.

serendippity · 18/08/2016 13:26

I have managed the sample size double choc ice cream that I thought was going to last all week...I hid it in the back of the freezer and told no one, then ate it in 10 minutes when everyone was out. Sometimes I think about ordering more....
I also managed to order 5 kilos of bananas instead of 5, had to try very, very hard not look totally baffled and then horrified as bags of the fuckers got unloaded. I had just started on line ordering, and was too embarrassed to admit my mistake! We ended up with quite a bit of banana bread that week Grin
