My Dp has had an unexpected visitor today who has travelled on 3 buses for nearly 2 hours to get to our place with a baby bath and is asking for £20 for it. Im at work and have not seen it, but said i have said no as i googled quickly and saw you can get a new one for £18 from m&s let alone cheaper from a multitude of other places. And my sis has already offered hers that she does not use for free.

He feels obligated to take it due to the trouble she's gone to and told me she will take 15 for it, i tried to get him to offer 10 but he won't budge as he feels bad. Aibu if i refuse to give him the money?

I never used a baby bath. Washed DD in the sink until she was too big and by then she preferred laying down and scooting up and down the big bath on her back.

You can say no. Unless your DP has agreed a price and asked the person to deliver it then it is not your problem.

Arrgh im fuming, just looked at his face book and he offered to pay for it without discussing with me first or i would have said my sis has one for free.

The problem is most of his friends and family are on benefits or low incomes and so he always wants to give them money for the slightest thing as hes got a well paid job by his standards (not very well paid, below average) which attitude is why we end up living off the credit card untill the end if the month, because hes give all his money away because he feels like he is loaded but we only get 1k a month each

You can get second hand baby baths for a couple of quid... there is no way i'd pay 20 for one. You are not being unreasonable.
I washed mine in the bathroom sink, or took them in the bath with me. even though we had a couple of poo incidents

It sounds like this bath is the least of your worries as he clearly has issues managing money.

I never used a baby bath, waste of time and money really, unless you only have a shower.
I used mine for first 6 weeks coz I felt I had to, then she went in the bath with me.
Second baby now 5 weeks got bath out of loft and she hasn't even been in it. I put a towel in our bath for her to lie on and just swish her about in about half an inch of water
Going to take mine to charity shop when I get a chance as it's not even worth selling and currently being used as a washing basket

Just say no. Tell him you are fed up with the financial situation he keeps putting you in, tell him you appreciate he's trying to help others out, but he's financially crippling you and if he doesn't stop NOW it's going to be a deal breaker - and mean it. He needs to wise up PDQ or he's going to cause you serious financial hardship & worse.

Glttered growing up, ours was our laundry basket for many years. Sadly it went when my parents renovated & it didn't fit into the new cupboard. My Mum & I were both upset - pretty sure Dad's eyes were a bit misty too. I was in my 20's.
