AIBU to think that given that England is already the second-most densely populated country of its size on the planet (behind only Bangladesh), that immigration is too high and should be reduced to zero, given that we also have a positive (and booming) natural population increase (deaths have never exceeded births in the UK, except perhaps during war)?

Why on earth would we possibly want to pack more and more people into an ever smaller space?

It's less than 0.5% of the U.K. population. To put it into perspective, there are more gingers in Britain than immigrants. It's probably about a 6th the number of people on mumsnet.

The biggest drain on public services is the aging population and people living longer, not immigration. I think the solution is to limit how long people can live for. That way we can make way for new people and we'll never be full.

I'm questioning your statistics tbh. Bangladesh is almost half the size of the U.K. By land mass, and has a population density of 1115 people per km2. It's 10th on the list by population density. The U.K. in contrast has a population density of 262 people per km2 and is 51st on the list by population density.

There were 828,000 NI registrations to overseas nationals (people paying our taxes) in 2015, an increase of 8% (source: office of national statistics). That's going up too OP. Spoke to a taxi driver today who's been here 6 years and worked out he's paid an average of £300 a month in taxes since then.

I'm sure the many Brits who emigrate likewise work and pay taxes in their new countries. Isn't it wonderful to have a world getting nearer where people can move to new places and find opportunities.
