What is happening to our weather? It's always bloody cold and rainy.

The last proper warm sunny summer, when it was sunny all summer was 2003. Which is 13 years ago.☹️

Dd was born in July 2006. Hot all June and July, then shit August. In fact thinking about it, it's August that's always crap☹️

No, I think 2014 was a good summer. Only one though.

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 17/05/2016 18:56

It was shit hot all summer 2003... oh to be 16 again with the whole world at my feet (forgets point of thread and starts getting all nostalgic)

Pseudo341 · 17/05/2016 18:57

YABU. It was 1976.

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 17/05/2016 18:58

Nah, it was rainy in August 2004 ( I always remember because a. Tis my birthday and b. I'm a bit odd like that ).

2002 was a good un as well.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 17/05/2016 18:58

I remember 1976, but don't think that can ever be beaten. But 2003 came close. Every other summer has just been cold and rainy

2006 was good. I was on mat leave and it was lovely.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 17/05/2016 19:00

It was crap in August of that year though. I had to wrap baby dd up warm in August.

2011 was lovely.

I recall walking everywhere and likes of cloth nappies in the breeze at home.

I8toys · 17/05/2016 19:02

I remember it very well - gave birth to ds 1 on 10th August 2003 - hottest day every recorded.

I8toys · 17/05/2016 19:03

Ever recorded in the UK!

HallowedMimic · 17/05/2016 19:03

Last summer was great in the SE (if you like stifling heat and blistering sun).

I'd happily alternate between autumn and winter though!

Tragicomical · 17/05/2016 19:03

2013 was pretty good, got married on 2nd June and it was really warm and seemed to spend a lot of that summer on the piss having lovely days out.

2003 was vile for me as I was huge then, lost 7 stone in 2004.

RainbowPickle · 17/05/2016 19:03

I think it all depends if you're around (I.e not stuck in work) last good summer for me was 2012 while on maternity leave. 25c at end of March that year.

2003 was memorable for needing fans to go to sleep.

zgaze · 17/05/2016 19:05

2006 was a blinder, I remember it clearly as it was the summer I spent a lot of time seducing my now-husband Wink. 2014 was pretty good here in the south east too.

LunaLoveg00d · 17/05/2016 19:05

2003 was awful. I had a newborn and couldn't keep him cool enough. Hated it.

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2016 19:05

2013 was excellent.
My job involves building earthworks. The "season" is usually March to Sept. We got loads done in 2013.

curlywurly82 · 17/05/2016 19:07

2014 was a cracking summer.

I was on maternity leave so spend lots of lovely time in the sun.

CantWaitForWarmWeather · 17/05/2016 19:08

2003 was a good summer (from what I can remember- I was 13!)
But I do remember 2006 being a hot one too. I'd just left school and remember spending a lot of time out in the sun relaxing before college started.

CottonSock · 17/05/2016 19:10

2013 was bloomin boiling

Beth2511 · 17/05/2016 19:12

I was heavily pregnant summer 14 and it was hell on earth, plus i was doing home care so in and out a car every 15 minutes which never had chance to cool down.

Barely remember 2003 :(

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 17/05/2016 19:12

2003 was awful, I was early PG and the heat and tiredness were a horrible combination. 2006 was also very hot (was on second mat. leave by then). I prefer cool summers so long as it stays dry.

twirlypoo · 17/05/2016 19:13

I went travelling round the world in 2003 instead of getting married. I came home late August and every one was browner than me as the weather at home had been so wonderful. I am prepared to leave the country again in an attempt to recreate it If you would all like?

trixymalixy · 17/05/2016 19:15

2014 when the commonwealth games was on in Glasgow was a fantastic summer. I was in the opening ceremony so we were outside practising 3-4 times a week and it was glorious, never rained on us once. (Well apart from the dress rehearsal!)

trixymalixy · 17/05/2016 19:16

2006 was pretty good, I remember as I was pregnant and boiling. Of course in 2007 when I was on may leave it was shit summer.

megletthesecond · 17/05/2016 19:18

Yanbu. Proper heat.

We were in the longleat maze on that scorching afternoon.
