So glad that you're finally getting some appropriate treatment for your poor DD.

I would suggest definitely pushing for the coeliac blood test to be done while you're in the hospital now. They won't confirm diagnosis without an endoscopy, but at least if the blood test shows up the coeliac antibodies (although bear in mind the test can be inconclusive, particularly in children), you can go straight on the waiting list for the endoscopy. If you have to wait to see a gastro to do the blood test, then if it is positive, you have to go back on the waiting list for the endoscopy...

Another glad to see that you are being taken seriously now. Hoping that you get some answers and that your DD is better. Thinking of your other DD too, it's tough on all of the family.

almondfinger · 06/04/2016 21:46

Another delurker to wish you and your family a speedy outcome and proper diagnoses and management of your little dd's bowels.

TheDailyWail · 06/04/2016 21:54

Good luck.

soupmaker · 06/04/2016 22:28

Great news Mae. Our DD1 takes daily picosulphate. It's worked well for us. Hope it helps your DD too. Glad you got the X-ray, I tried and failed to get one for our DD but her impaction wasn't nearly as bad. She'll be so relieved once it's all out.

Thank you again for lovely messages!
16 movicol and a load of Senna later, only one runny nappy.
Hoping we can go to sleep soon.
Enema in the morning X

Hope you can get some sleep soon. I have a 2 year old with chronic health issues and I understand how difficult it is for the whole family.

fraggle84 · 07/04/2016 03:45

So pleased to see that she's getting the help she deserves. You've done fantastically and she's lucky to have you and your dh battling for her.

Fingers crossed that she manages a good nights sleep

LittleBearPad · 07/04/2016 08:27

So pleased it's being taken seriously. Hope the enema does its thing.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 07/04/2016 09:10

girlandboy · 07/04/2016 10:44

Fingers crossed that the enema helps things along.

Catsize · 07/04/2016 11:14

Good luck this morning. Flowers

Ifiwasabadger · 07/04/2016 11:44

OP! Hello! Been following this thread since the start. Best of luck! I've been really constipated for the last few days and SO uncomfortable. Can only imagine what your little one is feeling like. All the best and please keep us updated.

AStreetcarNamedBob · 07/04/2016 12:10

Sending luck for the enema. Your poor DD has been thru the wringer! (And the whole family too)

Smeldra · 07/04/2016 12:26

Good luck this morning 😃 I've been reading both threads and worrying about your little one. I'm so glad there is now action/appointments etc.

My eldest was on Movicol for 3 years. She is now nearly 10 and fine.

I second the blowing bubbles whilst on the loo - worked a treat for DD. As did raising her feet a bit. A 'Squatty Potty' type thing (Google it and watch the YouTube clip....it's hysterical!). The actual branded item is quite expensive but step stools work just as well.

So glad to think that things are improving Flowers

HPandBaconSandwiches · 07/04/2016 12:42

It's been amazing to watch you growing in confidence. So pleased you're now being heard, and that's all down to you, being persistent, ignoring the knock backs and being a fab mummy. You have no need to ever be afraid of standing up for your children again.

Hope she can get some relief soon.

RunswickBay · 07/04/2016 13:12

Good luck with the enema. So glad you are in hospital getting the right care.

Hang in there and keep swimming!

kipperydippery · 07/04/2016 13:32

Good Luck. I hope all goes well with the enema.

Youarentkiddingme · 07/04/2016 14:19

Hope things are moving along today - in the literal sense Grin

It must be tough in there but know you have a whole host of MNers behind you who are proud of the steps you've taken and ow far you've personally come. Flowers

littlemaemae · 07/04/2016 15:39

She isn't doing very well.
The enema was huge and very traumatic. She was in so much pain and is still only passing overflow and mucus.
Had had picosulfate.
Nothing is shifting it.
We have to stay in until she has passed it all Sad

LauraMipsum · 07/04/2016 15:55

Poor cherub. I hope it takes effect soon.
