Aibu Coloured Skirting Boards??

Oh is decorating his house thank god we don't live together as his taste is clearly vile.

We've been looking at wallpaper hes chosen what he likes then goes on to say what colour gloss for the skirting boards?

I said white which I thought was the sane and only answer to what colour a skirting board should be. Green is the answer apparently.

Is this a thing?? Have I been living under a rock and this looks nice?. I may have said how it looks tacky and he went mental. Now I feel like a bitch..

What is wrong with him? I painted my skirting boards green as a teenager in the 90's. It wasnt even acceptable then.

Terrible. My dad has terrible taste and one time when parents were redecorating in the 90s we ended up with... Pastel orange walls, green internal wooden doors and LEMON skirting boards. It was like living in a packet of citrus starburst.

I like painted skirting boards. Ds is going to do his grey and his walls white when he decorates his room.

I had bright pink skirting boards in my old bedroom. Walls were white though.

My boss just did her skirting boards grey, it actually looks nice.

I remember, as a teenager, painting the skirting boards in my parents' house green (gloss) and marvelling at my handiwork.

I might add that the green skirting boards were to match the green carpet and green and white wallpaper. Whoever said that green was a restful colour was not speaking for our living room.

I would understand if the walls were white and he wanted to add colour by painting them, but come on!

I like gloss. The other stuff always looks dirty. Plus I like colour. Am quite tempted tbo by yellow skirting boards in the hall.

Then again I don't do the whole neutral beige thing either. I appreciate I am probably in a minority.

My gaffer from some years ago had our interior walls painted a grim shade of sky blue with chocolate brown skirting boards. A charming 'border ' of black PVC electrical tape ran all around the walls about halfway up. Bizarre.

White is normally the only colour for skirting boards and internal door frames. However there is a fashion starting for grey skirting boards and door frames but pure white walls, which done right can look nice.

My landlord is reluctant to allow any painting after the previous tenants had painted the hall, stairs and landing skirting boards and door frames sunshine yellow, with bright citrus walls and sky blue celing!!! Other parts of the house were apparently worse .
