To worry about all the single men in Wetherspoons..

Hello, this is kind of light-hearted but also I do seriously wonder sometimes about how many of the lical wetherspoons drinkers/ breakfast eaters are men on their own. Sometimes it looks like a men's hostel at breakfast, but with alcohol for some.

It makes me wonder about how many people there are who don't make it to wetherspoons, and where they are.

Does anyone else notice this?

I was in spoons today having a burger.

Mines full of familys and workmen till about 6pm then its full of young lads

My local spoonies is like this, but mostly elderly men. They are there from when it opens, food is cheap there, they all know eachother. I think it's actually a really good thing for them if they're lonely? When I go in there before a night out I usually have a game of draughts with a group of them

My grandpa has started going to his local one for breakfast a few times a week. My grandma died at the start of the year and he goes because it gets him out the house, he can have a chat with people and because it's cheaper for him to get a cooked breakfast there than to make one at home. It breaks my heart that he is on his own (we live a good 3 hour train ride away and can't drive) but I'm glad he's out the house and talking to people. He enjoys sitting with his paper and then going for a walk around the village after.

Was a regular in a Weatherspoons in Liverpool, it was a pub pre WS.

There was a collection of builders, the 'morning after the night before' (me and my friend fitted in there), pay day and so it was a 'treat' and just old blokes who wanted to get out and would flit between the pubs and bookies. My friend (both of us female) would also meet up after a night shift, as did some of the men.

The food was decent and cheap.

I had quite a few male friends die, in their 40's, because of over indulgence of alcohol, who fitted in the 'builders' crew.

It makes me wonder about how many people there are who don't make it to wetherspoons, and where they are.

I'm not sure I quite understand. There are literally billions of people who don't make it to Wetherspoons in the morning. They're in all sorts of places.

But how do they get their breakfast?

My dad goes to Wetherspoons in the daytime with his friend who was recently widowed. They like it because it's cheap and gets them out of the house. They don't start on the beer at breakfast though.

They prefer a Greggs breakfast I think.

Females are not banned from Wetherspoons. They can go there if they want to.

There is no need for a female equivalent

If you fancy a fry up, just go in and order one.

I misplaced my tweezers for 3 days last week.

By the time I found them, the last thing I needed was a fake beard.

I only said 'this breakfast is good enough for Jehovah!'

It's cos men can't cook, innit? Whereas all the ladies obvs know how to rustle up an egg and sausage butty.

My dad used to go out for a cooked breakfast when he retired and my mum was still working.
He'd act all unloved for and the ladies at the greasy spoon would give him an extra sausage.

But how do they get their breakfast?
Well they go to the bar and the order it. Then a nice person cooks it for them.

Round here the female equivalent is garden centres.
