TK Maxx - I bloody love it!

Im new so sorry if this has been done before.
Am I the only one that loves this shop?
All of my girlfriends and women work colleagues hate it.
I can spot quality a mile off. And whilst some stuff is not all that I have bought some lovely things in there. Clothes, shoes, home, even Penhaligons perfume, Christy towels, a Chloe coat, Coach shoes down to 40 quid from £145.
The bags I think have gone downhill. I hate labels that show by the way. But I can spend hours in there, luckily the Lakeside Essex branch has a loo and cafe. Do you love it or loathe it?

I like toys, beauty and homewares

I went to the one in Romford years ago when it first opened.

It was messy, confusing and totally resembled a jumble sale.

I popped in there a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised. It's been refurbished and it looked like a very nice shop.

I think jumble sale too. It's hard work to shop there.

Hate it!!! not only is it an expensive jumble sale but its LAST YEARS expensive jumble sale

I used to like it a lot, when it carried designer brands which were hugely discounted but say perhaps last season. I don't like it so much now as they started their own brands, and they are all cheap polyester tops as far as I can see (like a kind of trendier Next)!

All the bags are fake leather pretty much, but are expensive then for pleather.

I used to get lovely leather bags in there.

I still look for shoes, the odd bit of nightwear, but not as good as it was (perhaps our local store will undergo a make-over).

I adore it. (we need a 'heart' emoticon!)

I know what Euphemia means though – depending on the branch, the clothes bit sometimes looks like a jumble sale and is totally off-putting.

I'm lucky and my branch is tidy, ordered and not that busy.

I can also generally tell what's quality and what's not, even in the labels that I don't know.

I've got expensive labels like Manuka – yoga trousers that retail at £70 for £20. Cashmere jumpers (doesn't matter about the label as long as it looks and feels nice!) for £50 or £60. Knockdown Nails Inc nail polishes. Good chocolate.

I had some lovely leather jackets over the years from there as well, that's something they no longer do well.

I mostly dislike it, but it's been good for decent towels and the odd item of clothing.

You just need to keep in mind which brands are owned by TK Maxx and which big brands make lines of clothes specifically for TK Maxx. You can generally always ignore the RRP in both those cases as the clothes will never have been sold elsewhere

I can't stand it -it's very jumble sale and I hate rooting through the rails/shoe stands looking for the right sizes (because they are never where they are supposed to be). That said, I went in last month and got my DD some lovely boots, but I lucked out and went on a very quiet day so it wasn't so terribly disorganised as it usually is. I think some of their stuff is great, it's just being arsed to spend the time going through the rails. I prefer online shopping!

I love TK Maxx, it's like the Mothership calling me home.

It sells everything and I love it .

We have a lovely big one; all ordered, spacious, neat and massive.

I love the homewares and food. I do like the girls' clothes as well, there's always a slim chance of finding something really nice (though there are an alarming number of monstrosities also).

I love it too. I have a quick flick system where I flick through the clothes quickly feeling/looking at the fabric and it's easy to pick out the quality items. I've had some fantastic bargains!

It's OK for shoes and home wares but totally hopeless for clothes. Most of the brands were proved to be fake TK Maxx own brands with ficticious 'was' prices in a TV investigation and racking by size is the most stupid thing ever.

I have clothes in my wardrobe that fit that are anywhere between a size 8 and a size 14 so what I do not want is to sort through all the random crap to find something that I like in a 12, try it on and find it is too big, but guess what, they don't have a 10 in that item, because every size is just a total random selection of items.

Agree re the bags. Not good.
The sunglasses are great as are the beauty products. I think you need to spend a bit of time in there. If you know what is good quality then you can quickly and easily bypass the rubbish. I heard a lot say its like a jumble sale.

I like TK Maxx. I always go there first before I have any other bags to lug round and way before coffee/lunch stop if poss! I agree the clothes section does look like a jumble sale. You just need plenty of time to find the good stuff.

I bought a gorgeous wool jumper in there in the autumn.

You have the gift....it's like gaydar but for t k maxx.
People with "the gift" find amazing bargains on quality items.
People like me, born without the gift, find it a crazy jumble of random stuff with the odd nice thing that won't fit.

I hate it. I'd rather buy something elsewhere and pay a bit more than have to spend two hours sorting through rails of tat. It's like a never ending Next sale.

Yes it has some good quality stuff. However I find everything is muddled up and nothing is clearly marked.

I wouldn't spend 2 hours in one shop when I go shopping I like to look in several shops. To me spending 2 hours in one place would just be a waste of time

I think it's gone downhill a little bit, especially in the clothing department; but I still like it. I like that you never know what you might find. I'm happy to spend an hour or more in a shop if by the end of it I buy something for £10 that would have cost £50 and is good quality. That £40 saving is far than I would make in an hour at work. I buy all my kitchen stuff, shoes, boots and some underwear there. But the best section is the crafts and books which I wish was bigger. Plus they have great sales.

Love it! I haven't bought clothes in there for ages, but when I did I found fantastic stuff. I mostly go in there to check out the beauty section now and have got Nars, Ciate, Stila, Bella Pierre, NewCID, etc., for total bargain prices.

I like it for some things, Homes, running gear, toys. I have got some good clothes in there too.

It makes you work hard for it though.

I don't know how you find anything in there...it's like a jumble sale!
