I asked for two perfectly ripe. I've got s grim looking bag of halves that need 8 hours to defrost.

Surely these will taste like shit once defrosted? Aibu to dump him?

Twinkie1 · 27/11/2015 17:41

Ooooohhhh they are yummy in smoothies with sinack and berries.

Rinceoir · 27/11/2015 17:41

They sound bad. Please come back and let us know. Maybe try one of those strange baked avocado recipes with them. And let us know how that goes too please.

BrandNewAndImproved · 27/11/2015 17:43

I bet they are for smoothies and not to be eaten with a salad or whatever

lovemyway · 27/11/2015 17:44

I have seen them in the frozen veg section and avoided

TheTigerIsOut · 27/11/2015 17:58

C'mon, they cannot do frozen avocados, they would taste horrible on defrost.

BertrandRussell · 27/11/2015 17:58

They're a new Nigella thing.

sadwidow28 · 27/11/2015 18:00

Yay!!! I have the answer for this one!

I was once grossed out by the thought of frozen avocados when I wanted them for a dip.

YABVU OP Grin

They make perfectly fine dips - but you can't use them in salads etc because frozen avocados go a bit mushy;

Something happens to avocado when you freeze it. The texture is just not the same once it thaws

But do carry on and make your dips. Don't microwave them to thaw though - that would be cooked avocado!

It's to do with less food waste. I'm sure they'll be just fine for a dip. Sounds like a good idea to me.

ThreeLeggedCat · 27/11/2015 18:04

My DH bought some the other week. They are still in the freezer where they shall remain
