So mumsnet have recently changed the option to highlight both OP's and your own posts in a specific colour. They claim that only 8% of posters use this feature and hence it's unneeded.

I and some others disagree Grin So please if you would, can you answer the following questions for me? Either to protest the change or to support MNHQ, I don't mind, just interested in this 8%. Copy and paste your answer.

No discussion of the issue (if possible) - there are already two threads in Site Stuff about it. If you want to discuss it, here's one: Link

So firstly:
Do you use the highlight posts feature?

If yes
Yes, I tried it, but I didn't like it.
Yes, I use it on the desktop and mobile site but not the app.
Yes and I would like to keep it.

If no
No, I didn't know that you could do this.
Not interested in a highlighting option.
Only use the app and it's not an option on there.

Ta very much :)

Yes I use it on the desktop and would like to keep it.

I actually mostly mn on the app where it's not available but deliberately open long threads in the mobile site to use this feature.

Please put it in the app and don't get rid! Shock

Elysianfields · 06/08/2015 17:31

Thanks for toning it down a bit mumsnet but I still cannot read it on my ipad - the contrast is still too much.

Getting grumpy now though - MN obviously have no idea about the issues people can have with colours and text!

PLEASE can we have a pale colour OR a choice so those of us without perfect eyesight can still use the forum?

I have reported my post too Seneca - and totally agree with you

MissDemelzaCarne · 06/08/2015 17:34

Yes, I used it and I'd like it back. Sad

EmilyByrdStarr · 06/08/2015 17:35

Yes and I would like to keep it. I would also like to pick my own colours, I can't bear the green, and I didn't change anything, it just appeared! Plus, I used to be green and OP lilac, this is very confusing!

SenecaFalls · 06/08/2015 17:39

MN obviously have no idea about the issues people can have with colours and text!

Which is why having choices was such a helpful feature. I experimented with several until I found the ones that were easiest on my eyes.

ChestyNut · 06/08/2015 17:41

Yes I use it and want to keep it.

Sossidge · 06/08/2015 17:42

Yes and id like to keep it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/08/2015 17:44

Dear god!

I have kept well away from customise and was therefore hoping I'd keep my settings (OP in nice restful pistachio colour and me in pale purple).

Just had a look and aaaaaaaarrrghhhh!!! OP is now virulent eyeball-assaulting shamrock and I am a wan and washed-out mauve.

This is on desktop site on ipad via safari; on phone, using mobile site also via safari the colours are much more muted - OP is pale greenish grey rather than venomous green.

So, the colours are different depemding which device you are using!!!! Does MNHQ realise this?

JulietteMontague · 06/08/2015 17:45

Yes I always did in my browser but had assumed it was not possible with the app rather than that the facility had been withdrawn.
I would like it back

Flaperon · 06/08/2015 17:49

Yikes! That green is pretty horrendous and also rather attention-drawing when trying to look at MN at work.

Until a few minutes ago, I still had my original choices but the new ones appear to have been rolled out across the board.

IamTheWhoreofBabylon · 06/08/2015 17:50

How do you opt in
I use the SN board but either go from a previous post or have to look in topics

mammuzzamia · 06/08/2015 17:50

Yes, and I would like to keep it

ILovedYouYesterday · 06/08/2015 17:54

Yes and I would like to keep it.

Actually, I'd like to make highlighting the OP posts automatic.

If everyone had it, it might cut down a bit on the posters who don't RTFT and blast off a reply to the very first post when things have moved on a lot!

Can but dream anyway!

Agree the new radioactive green shade is not pleasing to the eye, give me back my more sludgy toad green please Smile

CobOnTheCorn · 06/08/2015 17:55

Yes and I would like to keep it

MrsJorahMormont · 06/08/2015 18:00

I like the old one where I had the OP in blue and my posts in pink! So much easier to navigate and I wish it was rolled out to app too!

Andrewofgg · 06/08/2015 18:04

Anyone care to bet on when this thread will hit the Big Thousand?

FarFromAnyRoad · 06/08/2015 18:04

God I hate this green. It's a slightly different green to yesterday's vomit inducing green. It's still not good though.

If it was a Farrow & Ball paint it would be called 'Chartreuse Overdose'

WorraLiberty · 06/08/2015 18:07

Far Grin

NotQuiteSoOnEdge · 06/08/2015 18:19

I want my old colours back!!

I've been reading mumsnet for five years, and it suddenly has horrible green everywhere, and my familiar pale pink (OP) and pale green (ME) have disappeared! WHY!!!!! It's horrible, when you are so used to a familiar, comfy thing to have it changed without warning!

CHANGE IT BACK PLEASE.

Jux · 06/08/2015 18:22

I was a lovely foresty green, and the op was lavender(ish) and I liked it. Now it's all revolting.

iPad/Safari. I shall look on laptop, but I expect it'll be much the same as it's still browser based (I've got Windows 10!!i).

redgoat · 06/08/2015 18:27

Yes and I would like to keep it.

It was the best way of keeping track of who said what, where I was in a thread and if the op replied.

I'm probably classed as a light user but I'd rarely use mumsnet without it as i couldn't be bothered trying to remember everyone's names.

nickelbabe · 06/08/2015 18:31

i had the darker green for the op.
not my favourite green, but the other was too pale, when i chose it.
i do believve the colours changed after that anyway, because people moaned about them.

I prefer to have nickel for me (official name silver, because they refused to rename it, meanies )

Noseypoke · 06/08/2015 18:38

Yes and I would like to keep it.

FindoGask · 06/08/2015 18:38

Yes, and please can we keep it.

Janek · 06/08/2015 18:49

Yes and I would like to keep it
