No spider sympathisers on this thread either please - if I was capable of disposing or even dealing with them I would talk to you but as I'm not ....

I ve found 3 small ones on the bathroom tiles over the last few days.

Its when they run across the floor, thats when i start jumping around

ArgentinianMalbec · 16/07/2015 22:48

Yes! There was one on my bedside table when I came to bed. It had the makings of a massive fucker, but wasn't fully grown. Confused
DP caught it and put it outside so it will probably be on it's way back in now

Lima1 · 16/07/2015 22:50

Fuk, fuk, fuk, fukity fu*k

And nooooooooooooooooooo

Steben · 16/07/2015 22:50

The slipper death was not at my hands, I had a friend here, if I hadn't I would be crying quivering with the Hoover Confused

Today to my horror I found a mum spider and loads of tiny spider babies on the bathroom windowsill today freaked me right out!!!!

ollieplimsoles · 16/07/2015 22:53

Christ sakes, me and dh were sitting on the sofa last night, I thought I saw something moving on his shoulder (where my fucking head had just been) HUGE spider runs down his arm onto the floor!

We glassed it and threw it out...its actually started.

I hope this turns into a photo thread, would be interested to see how big some of mumsnetters spiders get...

It's slug season in our house... Hmm Found one casually meandering around the bathroom this morning.

Steben · 16/07/2015 22:58

I would take anything over a spider, snake, lizard, crocodile or poisonous ant - anything

We have a spider a day here and have done so since May. I loathe them and will kill them with a coffee table book if I can.
Am I right in thinking that in America and Australia they bug bomb their houses to kill all insects and arachnids? Why can't we do that here?

There's a massive one lurking under the dishwasher. It watches me unloading clean crockery until I can't bear it any more and encourage it to go back underneath. Out of sight, out of mind.

sunnyawry · 16/07/2015 23:17

Omigod no pleeeease it can't be starting already. I had so many giant fuckers appear in my bedroom in the evenings last year, i started dreading going to bed.

Ledkr · 16/07/2015 23:23

Is that true likea I like the stringy ones.

We have a freakishly big fucker on a gigantic web in our garage.
I'm sure it will be in the house at some point looking for a shag!!

Ledkr · 16/07/2015 23:24

Spider x from Amazon works well

lilifer · 16/07/2015 23:32

I have a tip! If you can bear it, allow some of the "spindly" spiders (often referred to as daddy long leg spiders) stay in the corners of your room. It's not well known but they actually eat house spiders!

This is quite right. The spindly legged tiny body spiders are called cellar spiders and they devour house spiders who are twice their size, i have actually seen it in action its amazing.

I detest and am petrified of all spiders but i try and allow these cellar spiders to co exist with me cos they kill the really huge scary house spiders so well.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2015 23:53

Yes, we've had four of the really big ones in recently. Most unseasonal.

paulapompom · 16/07/2015 23:56

Oh God my poor dd gets absolutely hysterical if there's one about, thought there were weeks before it started. If you see a madwoman running out in pyjamas, holding a saucepan at arm's length while a teenage girl screams "don't let it go in our garden It WILL COME BACK IN! ' that'll be me. Grin

vaticancameos · 17/07/2015 01:18

This thread has just motivated me to get up and move the bed two foot away from the wall!

Topseyt · 17/07/2015 01:26

Why did I read this just as I am going to bed?

Don't click if you're phobic...

Totality22 · 17/07/2015 06:28

Why the fuck has that lady left that gigantic spider in her bathroom? I'd have been begging friends or family or even strangers on the street to come and remove it. Or I'd have moved out!!!

My DP catches them but leaved them for me to dispose of... gee thanks. Once a week I get up to a spider in a tuppaware dish!!!
