It's not exactly a new idea that wedding guests should avoid wearing white! I'm amazed at how passionate this thread is becoming!

areyoubeingserviced · 12/04/2015 10:51

My DM wore white at my wedding and tbh I didn't give a stuff. It was everyone else who seemed to have a problem with it.

Btw, I loved the fact that Andy Murray and his wife looked so happy. They made me smile.

Imagine at the end of your wedding still being unframed...oh the shame

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:52

I think you might be right OO. A wedding outfit list. Genius. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/04/2015 10:53

I may have been unframed for 18 years.

Christinayangstwistedsister · 12/04/2015 10:55

I think I have gotten away with it..I have been accused of being unhinged but never unframed

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 10:55

No - not obvious at all. Unless it's important to you for the wedding photos to look a certain way. I have a completely differerent set of priorities for a wedding.

Framing the bride - that has made me larf

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/04/2015 10:55

Oh god my wedding was soooo disappointing
No one upstaged me and I wasn't FRAMED oh god noooooo all these years of bitterness and misery.
Or maybe like most normal people I had a lovely day with friends and family marrying this bloke who I ...you know....quite liked. And nearly.twenty years later I remember the day fondly if slightly with horror as fashions change over time.
Maybe bridezillas hadn't been invented in 1996.

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 10:57

I do like the idea of a wedding outfit list to ensure the correct level of framing Grin

Black boiler suits for all Sir, just to be sure. Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 12/04/2015 11:00

I'm glad to have provided so much unwitting amusement!

drinkscabinet · 12/04/2015 11:00

Looks like both the MOB and MOBG both wore lit coloured coats which suggests it was deliberately coordinated. Judy looked fab and very elegant, I thought Kim's dress was beautiful and not at all puffball like (look at Princess Di's dress to see a true 80s puffball).

Cultural information: in rural Scotland there are almost always people outside the kirk to see the couple, in my home town the bride and groom are expected to throw coins to the children in the crowd.

drinkscabinet · 12/04/2015 11:02

light fucking ipad

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 11:03

Black boiler suits sound like the perfect framing outfit - provides the perfect contrast to the white/ivory/cream whilst simultaneously ensuring that no guest looks better than the bride. Result!

Salmotrutta · 12/04/2015 11:03

Even Kim's own mother was wearing a white coat!

How very dare she!

Bloody hell women are their own worst enemy sometimes, why so nasty about other women?!

They all looked lovely, I hope the day was everything they wanted it to be and I wish them many years of happiness.

I am getting married in may, I have no idea what my mum or mil are wearing, they have asked me what I would like and I just said whatever they want!

Salmotrutta · 12/04/2015 11:05

Black jump suits surely.... Hmm

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 11:05

Thats true re the money throwing - got to love a scramble!

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 11:06

Jump suits have a touch of the on-trend about them I believe. You're asking for framing trouble there...

Salmotrutta · 12/04/2015 11:06

I had big shaggy perm (remember those) hair on my wedding day.

And DH had some fetching huge glasses a la 80s trend.

derxa · 12/04/2015 11:08

I think this wedding looks perfect. Just like the wonderful Scottish farming weddings I used to go to (sob) and just like mine in fact. I think this slightly nasty thread is just disappointment at the fact that it wasn't some big showbiz wedding funded by Hello.

Salmotrutta · 12/04/2015 11:08

"On-trend" is something I try to steer clear of...

OOAOML · 12/04/2015 11:08

Did you have a butt bow and leg of mutton sleeves Salmon?

OOAOML · 12/04/2015 11:11

I think for proper framing guests will have to provide height and build statistics (could be on a little card with menu choice) to enable the correct height/weight/outfit spectrum for proper framing.

My bridesmaid was taller than me (actually I think all the guests apart from the children were taller than me) I wonder if I was I adequately framed?
