to have been shocked by Cuba?

Watching 'the secret life of 4 year olds' I noticed that Cuba was never told off for hitting Skyla and it was even seen as a positive trait by the experimenting scientists. How is that alright?

I was also shocked by the fact that his mother said that 'he knows which berries he can eat' as though he was just eating from bushes!

Clearly I know Cuba is the name of a country. Giving it to a child is twattish though and I'm afraid it does get lumped in with all the made-up, contrived names for the same reason that it's not a fucking name and sounds stupid (when given to a person, obviously, as per the context of discussion).

His mother doesn't let him eat random berries. Surely that was the point? He has been taught which berries he can and can't eat.
You do know that all the berries you eat have come from a bush outside,don't you?
What is wrong with eating fruit from where it grows?Confused
Although I personally found that family a bit too try hard in their 'hey we are just so alternative and different, y'know, we live by our own rules,man' routine.

I know a Cuba. It is a fairly standard way for polish people to shorten the name Jacub/Jacob/Jakub/Jakob.
The shortened version is either Kuba or Cuba. Just like Gorza (sp) is short for Margaret or Malgorzata (sp).

Could this be the case here?
