If you can't afford children thats just tough! IMO. We should abolish child benefit to be spent on real rights such as having something to eat and decent levels of sanitation. I would rather my hard earned tax went there than child benefit!!

I half agree that if can't afford children you shouldn't have them but child benefit is a life support to many small families living on the breadline. I know I would struggle without mine despite how little it actually is so in my opinion yabu

Most parents get child benefit, you have to be earning a pretty damn wage not to qualify for it but that does not mean you can't afford your child. I get child benefit but no other benefits. Should I send my child back? Honestly and I pay taxes too but I have the sense to know it goes on plenty more than just child benefits Hmm
