yanbu.

apparently the best way to sell a diet mag is to put a chocolate bar on the front.

DandyHighwayman · 20/01/2015 21:34

And why is it always aimed at WOMEN. Ooh naughty, simper, swoon.

FECK ORF

Armpitt · 20/01/2015 21:35

Dandy YABU.

The Turkish one is better Grin

I never buy "yoghurts", only yoghurt. I can add my own bloody flavourings.

CrispyFern · 20/01/2015 21:35

Fat free yoghurts are horrible aren't they? Why do people eat them?

Armpitt · 20/01/2015 21:36

i once got a sample of green and blacks butterscotch on the front of some mag ( in the days when people bought them - think was about 10 years agO0

I reserve most of my ire for food that has been turned into something it can't possibly be by the diet industry, for example reduced fat butter (or spread or whatever the latest rubbish replacement is called). Butter IS fat, if you don't want to eat fat then don't eat bloody butter.

Mintyy · 20/01/2015 21:39

Yanbu.

Because ordinary yogurts without sweeteners and thickeners are like SO calorific yeah?

I just think people are insane to eat an 80 calorie yogurt when the non-diet version is only 120 (or whatevs).

All those hideous chemicals making them think they've had a treat!

Tbh I only like yogurt in tzatziki and raita anyway, I don't do puddings. Have a square of chocolate instead imo.

Armpitt · 20/01/2015 21:39

i agree - hate fake food
fake coffee , sweetners etc
just eat less of the real thing
it is though, the fetishisation of yogurt that irks

Women are supposed to live on green tea and fat free yoghurt, didn't you realise?

Chocolate is only permitted in secret. Unless it is weight watchers branded and then you can eat your bodyweight "guilt free"

Cumberlover76 · 20/01/2015 21:41

Fail agree about the Lidl Turkish yogurt. Tried it after a mention on here and can't get enough of it. Delish and so cheap. Thanks MN.

Armpitt · 20/01/2015 21:42

and laughing when eating salad of course

SoMuchForSubtlety · 20/01/2015 21:42

The yoghurt industry is bizarrely large and money spinning. I'm baffled by the choice available. I think it has something to do with the supposed gut health benefits - basically as far as I can gather from the ads the sell is that yoghurt will fix all bloating and constipation problems like magic.

MrsTawdry · 20/01/2015 21:42

YANBU! They act like it's ice fucking cream and IT IS NOT! Stupid. Who buys that shite anyway?

PunkrockerGirl · 20/01/2015 21:43

Muller greek style coconut flavour fat free is lush though.

BOFster · 20/01/2015 21:43

Gooseberry fool is the way forward.

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 20/01/2015 21:44

Oh. Ooooooo. Umpf. Ah. Aaaaaah. Yeah, that's the stuff. Ooooooooh YEAH!

... Sorry, I was eating a yoghurt whilst reading the thread.

I'm so glad that the yoghurt adverts showed me ALL women orgasm at the merest taste of yoghurt. I thought it was just me!

Armpitt · 20/01/2015 21:46

OP posts:
DandyHighwayman · 20/01/2015 21:46

DandyHighwayman · 20/01/2015 21:47

Wait, turkish yoghurt? Tell me MORE.

Plonkysaurus · 20/01/2015 21:48

And wtf is 0% fat greek yoghurt? If I want my food to be 0% fat I'll drink water.

FFS.

This really pisses me off too.

expatinscotland · 20/01/2015 21:51

The diet ones are often FULL of artificial sweeteners.

grumblepuss · 20/01/2015 21:53

Oh god yes!
Full fat Greek yogurt is rich and creamy and virtually impossible to eat in large quantities.
Low fat fruit flavour nonsense is weird. It has to have thickening agents to simulate the texture.
