Jeeze Noelle I am only ever light hearted, didn't know it was a crime! Go with linerunners suggestion. Now I'm chucking a lighthearted bun in your direction.

JennyOnTheBlocks · 13/12/2014 18:21

come on, it's only a turn of phrase, no one really cares, do they?

TrojanWhore · 13/12/2014 18:22

"Lighthearted" is useful in a thread title though.

It shows that it's either weakly drafted (thus needing a fucking great label), or it's really bigoted hiding behind 'humour'

NoelleHawthorne · 13/12/2014 18:23

Jenny you are the Voice of Reason

I shouldn't care and will try harder.

cracks open booze

so, tell us about your terrible skirts Grin

LoisHatesChristmas · 13/12/2014 18:26

Oh yes its like those people who say "im not racist but..."
Thinking aibu would be interesting if everyone prefixed their thread either (for the stoopid) or (not for the stoopid) Grin

Sallystyle · 13/12/2014 18:27

YANBU

And red flag.. entitled

HelloitsmeFell · 13/12/2014 18:32

It's not being lighthearted that one objects to, it's being told in advance to be lighthearted.

HelloitsmeFell · 13/12/2014 18:34

And needing a hand to hold annoys me as well. Fine if you have some dire problem of epic, life changing proportions, but quite often it's because of something totally NOT a fucking drama and you need to all get a grip.

HelloitsmeFell · 13/12/2014 18:34
Grin
HelloitsmeFell · 13/12/2014 18:35

that's me being light hearted.

odoneel · 13/12/2014 18:35

Triggers is ok. " lighthearted" is naff and verging in Netmums. Seems like a real possibility, sadly

odoneel · 13/12/2014 18:36

If it really is in demand then can't there just be a separate topic for " lighthearted"?

XmasTimeMammariesandWine · 13/12/2014 18:39

People have to put lighthearted as otherwise they are swooped upon by a flock of raging dementors crying 'get a grip is that all you have to worry about'

LoisHatesChristmas · 13/12/2014 18:39

hello Erm yes I see what you mean Blush I feel silly and might cry, hold me?

Grin
XmasTimeMammariesandWine · 13/12/2014 18:41

If i ever started a thread in AIBU (having lost my mind).I would preface it "Dont be a nasty dick"

XmasTimeMammariesandWine · 13/12/2014 18:41

Rather than "lighthearted"

Boomtownsurprise · 13/12/2014 18:43

You triggered my lightheartedness

What kind of twinkly fucking troll are you....?!?!

Xmas Wink
HelloitsmeFell · 13/12/2014 18:44

Xmas you are so right. I understand why they do it, I guess I just wish they didn't have to.

I remember a time when you could have a laugh around here and be a bit outrageous without having to explain yourself and make disclaimers left, right and centre.

Sometimes I think everyone theses days on MN has had some essential part of their brain removed, the bit that gets irony and daftness.

(That's me being lighthearted again.)

LongDistanceLove · 13/12/2014 18:45

YANBU this place ain't what it used to be puts on rose tinted glasses

We used to be trusted with figuring out if a thread was 'lighthearted' if someone took it literally we could say give over its obvious its not meant to be taken literally.

It seems now unless you prescribe to a certain mindset you get shouted down.

For me it's not been the same since penisbeaker.
