Aibu to be a bit dissapointed that having followed several hundred posts about an ongoing situation the thread has been pulled before the final outcome? I suppose it was just nosiness on my part but i feel as if the bbc has pulled the final episode of the missing.....i can't be the only one.Xmas Confused

I just couldn't get my head round how eager people were for updates.

SisterMoonshine · 10/12/2014 21:53

So there isn't a workplace giving paid weeks off for getting texts and phonecalls then?

The starting of a sequel thread was a iffy seeing as though there was nothing to update. Like the OP was placemarking her own thread.

MissPenelopeLumawoo2 · 10/12/2014 22:00

NO! The penguin bollard thread wasn't made up was it? Shock

Blink1982 · 10/12/2014 22:05

Please tell me penguins was real?!?

TinLizzie · 10/12/2014 22:08

Hope Penguins was real, otherwise I demand those wasted hours of my life back please thank you very much.

Silverdaisy · 10/12/2014 22:09

I couldn't stop watching the thread, due to the cringe value of how most believed it it without question. I don't understand how people are not allowed to raise an eyebrow at something that seems to grow into a work of fiction.

People should be able to be synical surely? Otherwise threads like that become like the daily mail!

lapetitesiren · 10/12/2014 22:15

TinLizzie, i went in search of penguin bollards half way through the thread as curiosity got the better of me. I failed to find them and found myself reading a very long parking thread. Why? Why? I ask myself- i'm sure i have a very busy life i should be getting on with( after i have read penguin bollards.....)

OP posts:
lapetitesiren · 10/12/2014 22:25

If i can ever find the thread!

Sad don't do it. Please. It's a terrible, terrible addiction. Have a Wine instead Grin.

StrattersThePreciousSnowflake · 10/12/2014 22:57

I was suckered in. I'm never suckered in Blush

usualsuspectsparkly3 · 10/12/2014 22:58

There's a lot of it about.

RedSoloCup · 10/12/2014 23:05

Oh no!! I did suspect but just want to know what happened to Liftzilla!!! I have met some people as entitled as her!!

WhaddayWant · 10/12/2014 23:07

Yay! I wasn't suckered in and I troll hunted and I wasn't deleted. (I was subtle, maw ha ha). The OP was believable but I was suspicious as soon as 'management, were involved. I'm usually gullible so I'm pleased I spotted it.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 10/12/2014 23:13

First thread was quite believable. End of the second thread had me Hmm

All the best ones seem to be fiction though.

Snatchoo · 10/12/2014 23:14

well. I'm so gullible I believe all of the ones that turn out to be trolls! Blush

duckwalk · 11/12/2014 01:54

I'm obv very gullible Confused , totally got suckered into that one!
All the threads which have me hooked end up being pulled as its a troll!
Never mind!

PongPong · 11/12/2014 02:08

Now I want to know what all the red flags the OP raised were, never satisfied, me. Xmas Grin

lapetitesiren · 11/12/2014 04:04

Can someone please post the link for penguin bollards before i read another irrelevent parking thread.

OP posts:
Ifyourawizardwhydouwearglasses · 11/12/2014 05:41

Penguin bollards thread is over rated!

JessieMcJessie · 11/12/2014 05:45

lapetitesirene Penguin bollards is a parking thread about parking outside a house/block of flats in the Isle of Man. It goes for about 10 pages before penguin bollards are mentioned so you may well have already read it without realising. It's hugely overrated and 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back.

stillwearingaredribbon · 11/12/2014 06:47

Red flags
Fast moving frequent updates getting more extreme
Stuff at work decided instantly on a Saturday
The first thread could have been based on some truth and just exaggerated
All was seemingly sorted. The second thread was started when it did appear to be sorted
How did OP know in advance there would be more to post

LoopyLa · 11/12/2014 06:48

It was the Isle Of Wight and one of the most gripping things I've ever read on MN - aside from the lovely lady who fostered a drug-dependent baby, that had me in tears. Even better than the fabulous FuckYouChris horses threads, which were fascinating too (sorry FYF Blush )

But yeah, shame liftzilla was pulled, t'was a good bit of reading.

LoopyLa · 11/12/2014 06:54

penguin bollards thread

Jill2015 · 11/12/2014 07:16

And OP avoided answering perfectly reasonable questions, as the pace gathered. I asked when the union official (the person who told her to take a paid week off), had become involved, since they just suddenly popped up on the Saturday.
The 'temporary dismissal' was the final nail in the coffin, for me.

I got slapped down by another poster who said I was 'supposing' a lot of things, when I said the company could hear about the thread, especially given the level of detail, being shared on MN. But that was okay cos the OP knew that nobody else at work was on MN...

Seems I wasn't the only one 'supposing' Wink.

lapetitesiren · 11/12/2014 07:29

Thankyou loopyla. Methinks not much will get done this morning.
Anyone else on here prefer to leave their 80 grand car on the drive and take the coach?
