Aibu to be a bit dissapointed that having followed several hundred posts about an ongoing situation the thread has been pulled before the final outcome? I suppose it was just nosiness on my part but i feel as if the bbc has pulled the final episode of the missing.....i can't be the only one.Xmas Confused

I got deleted on the first thread (I think) for observing that it's the point at which I think "surely no one would really behave like that," that I invariably find out it's a troll.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 10/12/2014 17:37

I sensed that it had become rather drawn out [OP enjoying the thrill?] when OP was was given a week off [on a Saturday by the Union official, rather than the actual management] as the company was so fab, the continuing barrage of texts and calls and then Lifty being 'temporarily dismissed' .

Oh dear.

Deemail · 10/12/2014 17:51

Conquistador, I'm a worse idiot I took it as genuine until I read this thread, after reading lyingwitchinthewardrobed synopsis, I'm beginning to think I'm very gullible. I think I chose to believe the thread because to me it's more logical that this could've happened rather than believing someone could have made all this up, sure you'd have to have serious issues to go that far?

Aeroflotgirl · 10/12/2014 17:55

Oh no, it did seem a bit far fetched, nobody çoukd be that thick skinned surely. The second thread was a bit suspect.

SauvignonBlanche · 10/12/2014 17:57

It's so annoying when you get sucked in by something.

Ifyourawizardwhydouwearglasses · 10/12/2014 18:06

My favourite bit was when the whole of the working day/staff/managers/meeting time was taken up by meetings about this woman ringing OP for a lift.

TracyBarlow · 10/12/2014 18:15

She should've just left it at the first thread. Although slightly improbable, it was at least in the realms of 'coud have happened.'

She RUINED it by having a second thread. It was like The Return To Oz. Totally unnecessary after a satisfying conclusion to the first instalment.

tiredvommachine · 10/12/2014 18:30

Baow Sad

Jill2015 · 10/12/2014 18:42

I enjoyed it Blush. I think the first thread had a ring of truth about it, but as it went on, the involvement of management, and the info being given freely to the OP, by the management, about another staff member, and the week off began to seem too good to be true.

pearpotter · 10/12/2014 19:04

It might well have started off real then strayed into the realms of fantasy when the thread unexpectedly drew so much interest.

clapalongifyoufeelhappy · 10/12/2014 19:12

I felt Return to Oz was a worthwhile contribution to the Oz cannon. Liftzilla Thread 2 was more like LOTR. It went on and on and on in further instalments and just when you think its over, LZ asks again if she can have a lift.

FreeWee · 10/12/2014 19:18

Can the OP at least come back and update us on what would have happened if the thread had been real please? clutching at closure straws

Ilovehamabeads · 10/12/2014 19:19

God I'm such an idiot. Totally got sucked in to that one!

Chippednailvarnish · 10/12/2014 19:21

Shame, I was really looking forward to Lifty being strapped to the roof rack of the Smart car and then being tragically killed in a collision with the tailgating Muppet on the other thread.

Whenever threads are too juicy and unbelievable, I get suspicious!

QueenofallIsee · 10/12/2014 19:22

I told DP about this one...he reckons liftzilla is real but the unexpected traffic on the thread got the OP frothing and she started to make stuff up to keep it going. Predicted real story 1) cheeky mare from work has a lift every day and stops paying petrol 2) op says am not taking you anymore 3) cheeky mare says OK. the end.

Chippednailvarnish · 10/12/2014 19:26

Mind you I always had suspicions that Lifty was shagging the DH. After all she did keep calling him...

weresquirrel · 10/12/2014 19:28

Her spelling was appalling!

Chippednailvarnish · 10/12/2014 19:29

So was her knowledge of employment law!

skinoncustard · 10/12/2014 19:45

I was waiting for the bit when it would say
''and they all lived happily ever after''

YesIDidMeanToBeSoRudeActually · 10/12/2014 19:45

I would like to hope it was rooted in an episode which did happen, i.e OP being mithered for lift despite lack of petrol money, but I think she got carried away by the amount of interest she got.

Unless it was ALL bollocks from the start. Which would be sad.

Tootaboo · 10/12/2014 20:14

Is this the one where there was a group of lift sharers and then shifts were changed and it was just OP and the non driver? If so I totally believed that (I didn't see the second thread on it though)

Concordial · 10/12/2014 21:33

It was obvious that it was complete bollocks when the OP started the second thread. Total drama llama.
I was going to say as much but posters who challenged the integrity of the OP had their posts deleted so I didn't bother.

MidniteScribbler · 10/12/2014 21:37

I think it started out well, but by the second thread had totally jumped the shark.

FiveFootTwoinShoesies · 10/12/2014 21:45

Daft, isn't it, Concordial. People can write the most outrageous tosh and keep it going for days but the slightest hint from someone suggesting all is not what it seems get deleted. I think that some of those supporting (and encouraging) the liftzilla op have some very odd ideas how businesses are run.
