We don't actually care what you think. Hope that helps. Smile

grocklebox · 26/09/2014 14:43

I think it doesn't look too bad if they're out with their children and they're all on scooters, but on their own, looks a bit odd.

I must admit, I envy them a little bit because they always look like they're having great fun and don't care what anybody thinks! wish I could be more like that

KingJoffreysBloodshotEye · 26/09/2014 14:44

I've never seen an adult on a scooter.

Must get out more!!

ineveram · 26/09/2014 14:46

We are talking about scooters like the children use (with the little wheels) and not motorised scooters (lambrettas)? Confused

FrootLoopy · 26/09/2014 14:46

Are you one of those kill joys who thinks adults should be a serious and 'grown up', and never have fun?!

I laugh at them because they look hysterical (usually, anyway), but not embarrassing.

ineveram · 26/09/2014 14:47

I've never seen an adult on a scooter.

I saw my first one last weekend.

yes scooters as in same ones that children use

I'm not normally a killjoy/teenager but I've posted on AIBU so fair enough Grin

You are brave holdyourown ;)

twosmallbuttons · 26/09/2014 14:52

I have a scooter. It's awesome Grin I sometimes race 4yo DD in the park; other times I scoot down to work from the station.
I can't see why it would offend anyone really. Unless you're jealous Wink

holdyourown · 26/09/2014 14:52

yes maybe I should have kept it to myself Grin

I go out on skates, is that better or worse?

NinjaLeprechaun · 26/09/2014 14:54

When you're a grown up, you get to define what being a grown up means.

If you think it means riding a scooter then you probably don't worry much about what anybody else thinks.

flipchart · 26/09/2014 14:54

I was in Tallin a couple of weeks ago andi saw adults on scooters AND roller blades!!

Not embarrassing for any one really!

BeCool · 26/09/2014 14:55

I want one.

But I do worry about the effect it will have on my legs - with one used for standing only and one used for pushing only. I don't things I could be a double leg pusher type scooter. Grin

OP YABU - seriously you need to look at your own life and be embarrassed &/or judgemental about things that actually affect you, rather than suffering embarrassment on behalf of other randoms you encounter.

littlemslazybones · 26/09/2014 14:56

I'll join you holdyourown, I think grown-ups look silly on scooters too. YANBU.

TiggerLillies · 26/09/2014 14:56

A little, but mostly I'm just just jealous as me legs are tired from all the walking!

Greenwayslide · 26/09/2014 14:58

You see men and women in business suits riding scooters all the time in central London, at first I thought it was funny but then thought what's wrong with it.

DPotter · 26/09/2014 14:59

I love my scooter ! and I don't care what anyone thinks of me. The only people who ever mention it are those wanting to have a go. Or maybe everyone else is just too polite.....

neiljames77 · 26/09/2014 15:01

I'd go to work on a space hopper and wouldn't give a shirt what anyone thought.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 26/09/2014 15:01

I've never seen an adult on a scooter, but it does sound very Nathan Barley.

Aeroflotgirl · 26/09/2014 15:02

Yabvvvvu but that's your problem, not mine. I love my micro scooter, it's fast and fun, plus I burn a load of calories.
