Smoking In my Garden neighbors banging?

Hey all,

Here's my issue whenever I'm not allowed to smoke In the house parents don't like It so I have to smoke In my garden however every time I go outside In my own garden for a cig my neighbors start banging the door in there garage (they sit in there garage, I really don't know what they do in there but they do)

What shall I do? It's starting to get on my nerves any advice?

also I live In a House there garden joins ours a fence is between us, even when I go outside not to smoke they still bang.. I really don't know what to do anymore, there Is a chance they can smell the smoke, but seriously I'm not allowed to smoke In public places, or in my house so were the hell can I smoke?

Also they are fairly close to as I said before only a fence between me and them.

I would say yes they can smell the smoke. Our next door neighbours both smoke, our house can smell absolutely foul when they stand just outside their backdoors to do it. I really wish they would go to the bottom of the garden.
But you know, seeing it is a free country and all I just shut the windows and moan quietly to myself

Can't understand why they bang, unless you are standing directly below their window or something. Try moving to the bottom of the garden anyway and see if that helps.

Or ask them what the problem is.

Are you quite sure they're banging at you and not just constructing something?

I'd stay out there and see what happens.

If the smoke is bothering them though you could go further away to smoke.

Ignore them. If they have a problem then they can grow up and talk to you about it, and then if needs be you can tell them to piss off because you are entitled to smoke in your own garden if you want to.

They don't bang when I'm not In the garden, as soon as I go outside they start banging there garage door, It's really irritating are they trying to intimidate me?

Ah, go round and say 'I heard you banging and was worried you'd had a fall. Are you okay?' This will piss them off no end if they're under the age if 80.

Yes, they're trying to intimidate you.

However, whether they like or not, smoking tobacco in one's back garden is entirely legal. So they can just jog on.

you do stink the area out when you smoke, so they are probably objecting to that.

it's your garden so you are allowed to stink in it. You could walk further but you don't have to. But as you are behaving anti-socially in your own home, don't whine because they are doing the same.

Well there's a guy and some girl there foreigners around 40's I'd say, they also just sit In there garage constantly Christ knows what they do In there..

Someone please tell me what the reason for there banging is though?

I can't get my head around why they spend all day sitting in their garage!

Maybe call the police and say you suspect they've kidnapped someone and locked them in there.

They sound very unreasonable. You have every right to smoke in your garden. They might not like it but that's tough!

I would also wonder if the banging was about you. How do you know they don't do it when you're not there? And fwiw, I am on side with bluejeans. It's your right to smoke but I really loathe being unwillingly subjected to smelling it, and I have a loved one currently dying a hideous death from smoking so I have less sympathy than usual.

OP, I would second the suggestion to try moving to a different location in the garden. I think the neighbours are a bit unreasonable but it doesn't hurt to try to pacify them.
