to find royal morning sickness irritating

Having had to work through all my bouts of morning sickness and endure three labours at st marys (definitely not lindo wing) I have limited sympathy for Katiekins' morning sickness. I think she shouldve tried to cope with the engagement she had lined up this afternoon looking less than her usual perfect self. That wouldve sent out a great sign of solidarity to us mere mortals.

nice.

MrsBungle · 08/09/2014 13:13

She's not got morning sickness though, she has hyperemesis which is a different thing.

MammaTJ · 08/09/2014 13:13

Kate did not just suffer from 'bouts of morning sickness' with George though did she? She had the much more serious hyperemesis gravidarum. Not really possible to work through that.

DifferentCountrySameShit · 08/09/2014 13:13

Lucky you for being able to "work through it". I obviously didn't try hard enough because I ended up in hospital during both pregnancies. HG is not just morning sickness you can work through and I would not wish it on anyone!!!!

Cluffyflump · 08/09/2014 13:13

She suffered HG with her last pregnancy.
When I had it (HG) I couldn't move without vomiting or fainting.
Kate is only human.

Shakirasma · 08/09/2014 13:14

What a bitchy comment. Many women suffer from hyperemesis and trying to work during it is like trying to work through food poisoning.

Attitudes like yours are what makes it hard for sufferers to be taken seriously. Solidarity my arse.

Nancy66 · 08/09/2014 13:14

I'm guessing that 200 photographers didn't turn up every day to picture you at work ?

SocialMediaAddict · 08/09/2014 13:14

She doesn't just have morning sickness, she has a serious condition. I was so sick when pregnant with twins I ended up on a drip. It was the worst 3 weeks of my life. I felt so ill I thought I was going to die.

fivepies · 08/09/2014 13:14

I'm no royalist but having suffered from hyeremesis I sympathise with her. The OP is ignorant of the differences between morning sickeness and hyeremesis.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 08/09/2014 13:14

Maybe you should read the difference between hyperemsis and morning sickness!

Then take them judgey Knicks u have hooked up your arse and stop being a dick

WeirdCatLady · 08/09/2014 13:14

There is a hell of difference between feeling a bit queasy and being unable to retain any food or liquid. What a horrible post.

Echocave · 08/09/2014 13:15

I feel sorry for anyone with HG. I only had morning sickness with my last pregnancy so felt sick all day and was sick once or twice. And that was bad enough...

stargirl1701 · 08/09/2014 13:16

She doesn't have morning sickness. She has HG.

HTH.

MsAnthropic · 08/09/2014 13:16
Biscuit

She does not have morning sickness, she has hyperemesis for which she was hospitalised the last time; as most of 1% of women who suffer this complication of pregnancy are.

No, you did not go to work with what she has.

sparechange · 08/09/2014 13:16

She doesn't have morning sickness. She has HG.
Which is probably like saying that because I went back to work straight after having my dodgy mole removed, everyone with stage 3 cancer should be getting a grip and dragging themselves to the office for a proper 9-5 day

nethunsreject · 08/09/2014 13:17

I had hg and couldn't move, had a drip in, etc etc. It's awful and it is impossible to function. I have no interest in the royals but I wish anyone unlucky enough to get it to have a very speedy recovery! It was one of the lowest points of my life!

Lweji · 08/09/2014 13:17

YABU
and I beat you at 12 hours labour (and that's only from entry in hospital) and still feel sorry for the woman.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 08/09/2014 13:17

She has HG, try it some time op, then get back to me Hmm

Patienceisapparentlyavirtue · 08/09/2014 13:18

Standard morning sickness is bad enough, hg is far far worse.

My sis tried to work through it and ended up in hospital twice. She lost masses of weight and spent the whole pregnancy smelling vaguely of vomit and looking like death.

Not a huge fan of the royals, but even less of fan of ill-informed snark.

SweetPeaPods · 08/09/2014 13:19

My first ever Biscuit
What a pointless thread OP. Well done you for managing with just morning sickness while so many suffer with the much more serious HG

ScaryMartian · 08/09/2014 13:19

Lweji · 08/09/2014 13:19

Oh, sorry, I read 3 hours labour. Blush

Still, YABVVVVVVVVVVVVVU

Also St Mary's and a 6 bed room. (not sure what labour has to do with pregnancy sickness, though)

Lweji · 08/09/2014 13:20

You may well beat the Biscuit record for MN.

And here's mine. Biscuit

piplypip · 08/09/2014 13:20

Sorry, I was vomiting all the way through my pregnancies and found it difficult to stand up most of the time. All a bit of a nightmare and felt a bit too sorry for myself. I do understand that it is a serious condition and probably shouldntve made light of it. wish i hadnt been so hasty to post now.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 08/09/2014 13:20

Yup, with ds when I was just over 6 months pregnant, I weighed 6 stone. Because of HG. Call me a drama queen but I class that as ill enough for a spell out of work. Possibly I wouldn't have got into that state had I not felt I had to struggle on because people kept telling me it was "only" morning sickness.
