Round 3 folks.

We should arrange an Indyref meet up at this stage. Grin

And folk were complaining about the Sunday Times survey asking if we found Darling more attractive than Salmond... Grin

OOAOML · 31/08/2014 00:56

That wasn't on a a Saturday night though was it?Wink

OOAOML · 31/08/2014 00:57

I was going to suggest we list the issues we've already gone over loads. Just not sure how we classify tonight. ...

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/08/2014 01:02

Under "things we'd do for a Yes/No vote"

I reckon we could all agree not to discuss Gideon's thong Brown's balls Droopy Danny last night any more.

deeedeee · 31/08/2014 07:12

Eurgh you lot!

Filthy!

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 31/08/2014 07:31

If Scotland did become "Independent", I can see wm rushing through a possibly illegal law stopping other parts of the uk from leaving the union.

ChelsyHandy · 31/08/2014 07:39

Alternatively, it might give parts of Scotland which have asked for a referendum to stay in the UK should Scotland become independent, a vote. That would be my guess for Cameron's recent visit to Shetland.

FannyFifer · 31/08/2014 08:10

If Scotland do become Independent I can see England doing the same & ditching Wales & NI, now that would be interesting. Wink

Really feels like the tide's turning here in my small corner if edinburgh. So many yes stickers in windows, so many badges, so much chat in the shops parks and pubs. It's exciting!

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 09:39

If that's a true assessment then I'm depressed.

I would guess Scotland won't be accepted back into EU without giving a lot of concessions - to appease the Spanish for starters.

Scotland will have left UK with the disruption that will inevitably bring only to become a weakened part of the EU.

Where's the true independence?

PacificDogwood · 31/08/2014 09:49

Grin 'Twas fun but I am now looking forward to more serious debate

If what's a 'true assessment', AFew? I take it you're a No? Wink

Numanoid · 31/08/2014 09:55

That moment when you read the recent posts, and immediately want someone to invent brain bleach. Grin
Can't believe there was a poll to see whether people found Darling or Salmond more attractive! Still, it's always good to see some lightheartedness amongst the more serious stories.

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 09:56

deeedeee's local observations.

Reading the thread from last night felt like picking my way through the empty wine and gin bottles of an expired party!

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 09:58

I'm an Eyeore that says vote how you will!

PacificDogwood · 31/08/2014 09:59

I wish I knew what I will… Confused

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/08/2014 10:03

Pacific

Problem is it is a gamble either way. I guess in the long term who do you think will govern Scotland better, Holyrood or Westminster?

PacificDogwood · 31/08/2014 10:05

Fine, that is exactly what I am thinking.
It's the short- to medium-term possible consequences of Independence that are a tad worrying as so unknowable
But, yes, I know where my sympathies lie Grin

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 10:08

..or Brussels, or Bonn..

deeedeee · 31/08/2014 10:09

don't be depressed, as you say it's just a local assessment.

But i do feel increasingly more hopeful recently.

'Because it's unwise to replace the good we already have with the evil that may come'

Good grief. I am ignoring all the misogynistic shit.

It would be Berlin, not Bonn, non?

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 10:12

I should have known better than to engage deeedeee.

AFewFallenLeaves · 31/08/2014 10:16

Pacific it's still too early for me, I've been listening to too much 80's music lately!Smile

PacificDogwood · 31/08/2014 10:17

Ah, the music of my yoof! Grin
