Ungrateful Bastarding Bastards

OH belongs to an activity club.
They're having a Bar-B-Que tomorrow. (Ticketed to raise money)

I was asked last night at 17:30 if I could make a 'few' cakes as dessert…oh and there's 80 expected.

I have spent all day, got up at 6 on my day off, making cakes.

I've made Orange Chocolate Brownies, red Velvet cupcakes, old fashioned butterfly cakes and chocolate cornflake cakes for the little ones. At the minute in the oven are coffee and walnut cakes.

OH has been out doing activity since last night. Is currently helping set up for tomorrow.

Has just called to say not to bother with cakes as they've been to Costco and grabbed 4 of their big cakes…

So my AIBU
Am I being unreasonable to tell them all to fuck off and never ever bake for the bunch of thoughtless bastards ever again.

Am I being unreasonable to let rip on OH for not letting me know earlier? I mean I've spent all fucking day on this.

Am I being unreasonable to open the very posh expensive vodka?

Yanbu, I would be fuming!
Have a bake sale tomorrow.

Babyroobs · 09/08/2014 19:38

That's awful. Eat cake and drink Vodka. YANBU.

ohfourfoxache · 09/08/2014 19:38

Yeah, I'd be fuming.

resists urge to ask where you are as I may saunter over for a cake fix

Groovee · 09/08/2014 19:39

OMG I would kill him! Sell them tomorrow to recoup costs!

nicename · 09/08/2014 19:39

Oh that is rotten! They are probably a million times better than stinky Costco ones too.

Can you sell them or give them to friends and neighbours (where was it you said you lived again?).

Try not to get to pissed off. Notch it up to experience and never do it again.

PortofinoRevisited · 09/08/2014 19:40

Did they plan to pay you for the ingredients?

Cheeky76890 · 09/08/2014 19:40

Freeze what you can. Very rude to mess you around

catsoup · 09/08/2014 19:41

How bloody rude! NEVER bake for them again. I'd be beyond pissed off at your OH for not letting you know.

Or could you take your cakes tomorrow and sell them?

freyaW2014 · 09/08/2014 19:41

Omg that's terrible! I wouldn't have baked so many, just because there's 80 coming doesn't mean you have to do them all!

gamerchick · 09/08/2014 19:41

I would be marching in there and giving them the cakes telling them personally not to bother asking again. Let the husband deal with the fallout.

Or he would be getting just cake for his tea for the foreseeable.

HamEggChipsandBeans · 09/08/2014 19:42

Take them to your local police, fire stations or retirement homes.

ThePrisonerOfAzkaban · 09/08/2014 19:42

The weather is going to shite tomorrow, sit on the sofa all day and scoff the lot

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 09/08/2014 19:43

I'd take those cakes and shove them up your husband's arse!

Yanbu, that's awful!

Agree with selling them tomorrow, or freeze what you can.

You must be fuming!

What a lovely idea Ham

Earlybird · 09/08/2014 19:46

Awful behaviour. So thoughtless.

Invite a few of your mates over tomorrow for cakes and something to drink. Short notice, but sometimes impromptu works better than planned-for-weeks.

AnnieLobeseder · 09/08/2014 19:46

If it had been me, DH would have heard every word of exactly how I felt about it without the need for a telephone, and certainly been told not to bother coming home anytime soon. I would also refuse to have anything to do with anyone from said activity ever again.

That is one of the rudest things I have ever heard.

Have you got some lovely friends you can invite round tomorrow for a tea and cake party? Perhaps throw an impromptu Macmillan coffee morning or similar?

PenelopePitstops · 09/08/2014 19:48

Fuckers

Selks · 09/08/2014 19:49

OP have you told him that you've spent all day doing this?

I would be fuming! You have my sympathy.

nocoolnamesleft · 09/08/2014 19:50

Where do you live? Can we all come round?

Grin
Bakeoffcakes · 09/08/2014 19:50

I'd find it very difficult not to throw the coffee and walnut at him as he walks down the drive. Go on, it will make you feel much betterGrin

thenightsky · 09/08/2014 19:50

Bloody hell... just that... Bloody Hell. Even DH is sat here open mouthed at your OP. Shock

lurkingaround · 09/08/2014 19:51

Bastarding bastards is too kind. Never bake for them again! Open the good vodka immediately!
