Ungrateful Bastarding Bastards

WellnowImFucked · 09/08/2014 19:36

OH belongs to an activity club.
They're having a Bar-B-Que tomorrow. (Ticketed to raise money)

I was asked last night at 17:30 if I could make a 'few' cakes as dessert…oh and there's 80 expected.

I have spent all day, got up at 6 on my day off, making cakes.

I've made Orange Chocolate Brownies, red Velvet cupcakes, old fashioned butterfly cakes and chocolate cornflake cakes for the little ones. At the minute in the oven are coffee and walnut cakes.

OH has been out doing activity since last night. Is currently helping set up for tomorrow.

Has just called to say not to bother with cakes as they've been to Costco and grabbed 4 of their big cakes…

So my AIBU
Am I being unreasonable to tell them all to fuck off and never ever bake for the bunch of thoughtless bastards ever again.

Am I being unreasonable to let rip on OH for not letting me know earlier? I mean I've spent all fucking day on this.

Am I being unreasonable to open the very posh expensive vodka?

Bastarding bastards

Does he know you were spending all day baking? Is he always such a cunt?

PenelopePitstops · 09/08/2014 19:51

Please update op, you need to make sure they know you are furious.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 09/08/2014 19:52

Very, very bad.

I'd be seething and dh would have the full brunt when he arrived home.

Twats, all of the organisers.

AnnieLobeseder · 09/08/2014 19:54

Oh, and YADNBU to open the posh vodka. Use the cheap vodka to set fire to DH's equipment for said activity.

Optimist1 · 09/08/2014 19:55

I hope this will mean you're exempt from every having to contribute in any fashion in the future, and that he spends a very long time making amends. They are indeed bastards. Your freezer will be your friend. Vodka time.

RabbitSaysWoof · 09/08/2014 19:56

Rude. Angry
Your selection sounds lovely can you freeze them?
Tell them to fuck off next time.

ICanSeeTheSun · 09/08/2014 19:56

Does he know you been up since 6 doing them, if he is like my DH he would think that it would take an hour as that's what would take me to do them with the DC but it would be very basic ones.

sebsmummy1 · 09/08/2014 19:57

No sorry, that's unacceptable and so fucking rude I would be spluttering with rage. They can freeze the Costco cakes and have the decency to serve yours instead. It's on tomorrow isn't it? Why can't he stick with the original plan and take your cakes instead?

gobbynorthernbird · 09/08/2014 19:58

They are indeed bastarding ungrateful. But if you're in the North West and have too much cake, I will offer my disposal services.

StillProcrastinating · 09/08/2014 19:59

Ham's idea was great. Or do an impromptu Macmillan cake sale on your front lawn, which OH can man until it's sold out, and then he can go to activity?!

Bakeoffcakes · 09/08/2014 19:59

I have a picture in my head of the OP is siting at the kitchen table, surrounded by baking debris, stuffing herself with cake whilst slugging wine from the bottleGrin

pumpkinsweetie · 09/08/2014 20:02

Eat half, send me the other halfWink and then sell the husband to make fundsGrin
Oh and drink wineWine

scottishmummy · 09/08/2014 20:03

Oh my word, all that effort.nae wonder you've got the hump
I'd make the take the cakes, and make sure they know the effort yiu went to

Applefallingfromthetree2 · 09/08/2014 20:06

Your cakes sound delicious. Costco cakes are truly disgusting-there is a reason why they are so cheap. They are welcome to them.

Yours on the other hand people would prefer by a mile. Can you sell them for charity at the event? Or freeze what you can and eat the rest? Or have a coffee morning at home and invite friends and neighbours?

What thoughtless ungrateful individuals!

MammaTJ · 09/08/2014 20:06

Force feed him cakes when he gets home, it is the only thing to do!

aprilanne · 09/08/2014 20:08

i would invite my friends over for tea and cake .infact make that vodka and cake

WellnowImFucked · 09/08/2014 20:08

Give OH his due, he's angry too. He's just got in and is fuming. He's told them that I'll be charging them for not only the ingredients but also my time. Normally we don't as stuff like this is always for charity or raising money for club.

I did let rip at him but he swears he called as soon as he knew and seeing how fucked off he is I'm leaning towards believing him.

Don't worry no cake will go to waste. The decorated ones are going to neighbours/friends/work. The undecorated in to the freezer.

Well the ones I haven't eaten…

2 vodkas down, but I'm still fuming.

Could you not donate them too a care home/children's ward or would it be against health and safety.

Just so you don't feel like you've waster your time.

Ps LTB Grin

thenightsky · 09/08/2014 20:09

Actually... you know what?

Turn up with your cakes tomorrow and shame their asses!

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 09/08/2014 20:11

You sound very kind, but all day? Seriously? How many buns per person were you catering for? There is no way on earth I could spin out, say, 30 of 5 or 6 varieties of bun/cake to take an entire day! If I'd been up at six, I'd be done by 9! Chocolate cornflake buns take about 5 mins! And I don't even use a mixer, I do it all by hand.

Very frustrating to have wasted time though when your DH is ungrateful.

WellnowImFucked · 09/08/2014 20:11

Bakeoffcakes, you're not far off ....

OP posts:
AnotherFurry · 09/08/2014 20:14

Most people would prefer home made cakes to any bought ones so not only have they pissed you off they are losing out on your great tasting cakes.

Idontseeanyicegiants · 09/08/2014 20:14

Well the jokes on them because Costco cakes are shit. I honestly don't think I've ever tasted worse
apart from my own
YANBU, completely thoughtless and rude.

Isabeller · 09/08/2014 20:14

Post a picture of your lovely cakes and we will all be very impressed and appreciative Smile

Charitygirl1 · 09/08/2014 20:15

What an intensely irritating post wibblypig. OP, not only have you wasted your time, you're also a shittily slow baker and wibbly pig could have done it in an hour.

You're not by the way!
