It's too hard and tasteless!
However some bright spark has ruined my evening by "popping" it in the fridge! Grrrrrr....

No you're right, it should be kept in the freezer! Especially in this weather, lovely, cold and rock hard.

londonrach · 30/06/2014 19:24

What...chocolate should melt when you bit into it!

hoobypickypicky · 30/06/2014 19:26

YANBU. The bright spark is a philistine. Grin

Tomatoes are tasteless straight from the fridge too but who cares anyway, chocolate is nicer.

silkknickers · 30/06/2014 19:26

room temperature is the ONLY way to eat chocolate. I divorced my XH for repeatedly putting chocolate in the fridge Grin

bellarations · 30/06/2014 19:26

Scarlet no, surely not, I just cut my mouth on a "rock hard" piece of chocolate.
I'm keeping the rest in my pocket for now, .... To keep if safe and more importantly..... Warm it up!

It's better from the fridge!

Takes longer to melt on your tongue and the coldness is better on the tastebuds.

Come on peopleWink

silkknickers · 30/06/2014 19:27

...sorry, actually room temperature is indeed the only way to EAT chocolate - unless you choose to actually climb into the fridge!

I meant that it should be STORED at room temp!

HecatePropylaea · 30/06/2014 19:27

I love chocolate hard from the fridge or freezer. I don't like soft chocolate. It's too gooey.

notamonkeysuncle · 30/06/2014 19:28

I say fridge
DP has to have it room temperature.
We now have separate chocolate stocks which is fine by me!

FraidyCat · 30/06/2014 19:29

In general, I prefer it from the fridge for the reasons StillSaying gave.

However I would make an exception for Toblerone, that's not nice cold.

gamerchick · 30/06/2014 19:30

It's better from the fridge

mumof5plusazoo · 30/06/2014 19:30

My dh and I have separate chocolate due to this exact disagreement. He thinks it should be in the fridge whereas I know it should be room temperature Grin

Aeroflotgirl · 30/06/2014 19:30

Nothing better than lovely cold hard tasty Cadburys, and Maltesers, and Minstrels and and

bellarations · 30/06/2014 19:39

Seems it's 50/50 then.
I Iike the idea of having seperate chocolate stashes.
Can't believe I missed that one.
Not convinced fridge is the place for choclate, the same applies to a flake in ice-cream, makes the chocolate too hard.

I keep mine in the fridge to stop me eating it!

appealtakingovermylife · 30/06/2014 19:42

Personal favourite is yorkies, straight from the fridge!
So what about eggs? I keep mine in the fridge but a lot of people find that weird.

bellarations · 30/06/2014 19:46

Appeal - My eggs are in the fridge, but alot of recipes say use room temperature eggs.
Besides they are safe in there.
Chocolate , tomatoes and strawberries do not taste as good eaten cold from the fridge.

YANBU

Dp and I are engaged in an ongoing war of attrition whereby he places the chocolate in the fridge, I remove it and put it in the cupboard, he puts it back in the fridge, repeat as infinitum.

I am currently winning as I have rescued the chocolate and am hiding it under my pillow.

SpiffingGalore · 30/06/2014 19:48

*ad infinitum. My phone is illiterate.

Purplehonesty · 30/06/2014 19:50

Ah now...galaxy at room temp, dairy milk and green/blacks in the fridge.
Anything else room temp

taxi4ballet · 30/06/2014 19:52

Doesn't last long enough in our house to store it anywhere.

dawndonnaagain · 30/06/2014 19:53

I've just put my peruvian dark chocolate with hazlenuts in the fridge.

dawndonnaagain · 30/06/2014 19:53

hazelnuts!

WeAllHaveWings · 30/06/2014 19:53

chocolate should be eaten from fridge. I also love Jaffa Cakes from the fridge. The crack of the chilled chocolate and the cold Jaffa filling.

colleagues at work disagreed and we had a taste test on Jaffa's, one each at room temp and one from fridge. 17 colleagues and chilled Jaffa cake's won unanimously (we do some actual work sometimes in the office too.....)

ArmyDad · 30/06/2014 19:55

Fridge, dear god people keep it in the fridge. I don't even like chocolate that much but if I do it has to be cold.
