To think Park View Academy, must be doing something right ( looking at their statistics)

I have just looked at the Park View Academy's statistics and have been amazed. I expected to see appalling statistics, yet the statistics are fantastic!

92.5% of pupils English as a second language 59.8% of pupils on FSM yet achieves 75% 5 A*-C Maths and English.

There might be a problem with some religious zealots there, but clearly the school is achieving fantastic results. The school is giving its pupils an education far beyond, what the raw statistics say it should be doing.

The problems should have been dealt with in an efficient and quiet way, it should not have come to the media attention. The school deserves to be looked on as beacon of excellence for its outstanding results.

Damn I love your posts gordy Thanks

Animation · 11/06/2014 20:03

What sort of posts? That moderate Muslims ought to challenge extremist governors? What is so threatening?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/06/2014 20:03

*My argument ends there"

Perhaps just as well, if you have no coherent points to raise beyond ceaseless claims of victimhood and prejudice

And now it's all being twisted by the media because of "financial or other issues"?? Utterly incredible .....

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:05

I'm not a Muslim incidentally.

I didn't say it was twisted by media because of financial issues.

Are you putting my posts in a blender?

Animation · 11/06/2014 20:05

"why didn't Catholics stop children being abused?"

Exactly - you get it. It was wrong wasn't it.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:06

My argument ends there because I don't really desire to engage with someone prejudiced beyond objecting to their prejudice.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:06

I see you are twisting gordys posts too.

Not just a blender but chopping em up too.

Animation · 11/06/2014 20:09

Fango - why not discuss it rather than try and win or sabotage the discussion?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:09

There is no point.

We would never agree.

So I will just point out that IMO your posts are very prejudiced.

And leave it at that.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:11

I was actually truly shocked when I read them

But not surprised.

Animation · 11/06/2014 20:12

How are they prejudiced?

gordyslovesheep · 11/06/2014 20:14

No Animation ...if you read my post I am suggesting it's because every single Catholic on the face of the earth didn't actually KNOW it was happening

Fanjo got it Grin because she is clever and right Thanks

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:15

I mean laying into to GoshAnne for things that "muslims" have done..

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/06/2014 20:16

The point about the catholic child abuse is an excellent analogy, gordy, in that it reminds us that the church has (quite rightly) accepted the most extreme criticism for what they tried so hard to conceal, with even their worldwide leader making a public apology

I don't imagine for an instant that they enjoyed seeing this evil brought to light - they've even tried to use the "anti-Catholic card" to deflect criticism - but at least they deserve some credit for finally addressing it, however late

Perhaps we can look forward to seeing the same approach within Islam??

gordyslovesheep · 11/06/2014 20:16

I love football - I watch a lot of football and go to matches ... it doesn't make me responsible for Ched Evans's crimes

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:17

Yes. Am I Alec Salmond's right hand man because I am scottish?

No.

gordyslovesheep · 11/06/2014 20:18

I don't know ...since most of the school involved were not faith schools - so nothing to do with Islam ...which, I am sure you are aware, had no central 'church' or leader :)

I don't expect every single individual Catholic to apologise though

gordyslovesheep · 11/06/2014 20:19

has not had!

LuluJakey1 · 11/06/2014 20:20

I don't think this is about all Muslims at all. It is about a group of Muslim governors and Senior Staff in schools in Birmingham who are pursuing their own prejudiced views and wishing and planning to impose their extreme beliefs on children.

The reason many people do not challenge this is they are a powerful group within their community and are intimidating to anyone who disagrees with them.

Indeed, headteachers who have stood up to them have found their lives made intolerable or have been sacked and replaced with Muslim headteachers- who have been the preferred candidates of this group because they share their extreme beliefs.

The link I posted to the article from The Telegraph demonstrates how organised and extreme this group are and the extent of their influence.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/06/2014 20:22

... why not discuss it rather than try and win or sabotage the discussion?

Because sadly, it's the only approach they know how to use, Animation

They've got away for so long with attempts to close a discussion by crying "victim" "prejudice" and all the rest that it's hardly surprising they're reluctant to engage along any other lines

Montegomongoose · 11/06/2014 20:22

Agapanthers

That was one if the most sensible posts I've read in this subject.

Animation · 11/06/2014 20:23

Gordy - yes I think you're both too clever for me!

But the catholics who did know that children were being abused then why didn't they challenge the abusers?

The apathetic majority in the end, who do not challenge bad practice are doing children no favours.

gordyslovesheep · 11/06/2014 20:23

how is it being sabotaged - or is your version of 'discussion' basically 'agree with me'?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:23

Who is "they"

I am not muslim.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/06/2014 20:24

More "they" posts decrying an entire population though I see.
